I'm pleased to announce that the ASEAN Impact Rice Initiative (AIRI) has officially expanded to Kompong Thom, Cambodia. We appreciate the strategic partnership with AgriCapture (the U.S.), which is responsible for carbon credit project development, MRV, and carbon credit monetization. We appreciate the commitment from our Local Implementation Partner (LIP), Mr. Nhem Sovatha and Ms. Kimviet Ngo Barringer, who are committed to improving the income for farmers from carbon credits and an environmentally friendly rice brand.
AIRI is the grand project that aims to achieve 1M hectares of low-emission across Southeast Asia. The project will generate significant environmental, social, and economic impacts across the region.

I'm pleased to announce that the ASEAN Impact Rice Initiative (AIRI) has officially expanded to West Sumatra, Indonesia, adding the second location to the project. We appreciate the strategic partnership with AgriCapture (the U.S.), which is responsible for carbon credit project development, MRV, and carbon credit monetization. We appreciate the commitment from our Local Implementation Partner (LIP), the Cooperative of Produsen Hidup Basamo Sepakat. Big thanks to Fitra Jaya Piliang, who tirelessly champions regenerative agriculture and the betterment of his community.
I was born and raised in a farming family, and all of my childhood memories are attached to the rice field behind my house. I recognized that it is extremely hard for farmers to break through their social fabric. AIRI aims to improve income for farmers, support local community vitality, and steward the environment.
Our 8 LIPs in 7 countries in Southeast Asia are committed to achieving 1M hectares of low-emission rice in 2030 across the region. The task is challenging, but the outcomes will be rewarding.

SPACE ASEAN is extremely proud to be a part of AgriCapture's efforts as its Global Rice Methane Project scales in Indonesia, starting with Lombok. πΎ π
Together with local agronomy and technical assistance provider AgriTC, we are supporting measurable methane reductions and improved farmer livelihoods while developing high-integrity carbon credits under Verraβs VM51 methodology.
This expansion reflects a strong commitment to locally grounded implementation, rigorous data collection, and scalable climate impact across global rice systems. It also reinforces SPACE ASEANβs flagship program, the ASEAN Impact Rice Initiative (AIRI), and signals deeper U.S.βSoutheast Asia engagement on sustainability.

It was a genuine honor to share our expertise and vision in Savannakhet, Laos! π±π¦
Dr. Bao Hoang β Founder & CEO of Space Asean, had the privilege of conducting an in-depth workshop on βDeveloping an Effective Ecosystem for Sustainable Agriculture in Laos.β
The event brought together key faculty members from Savannakhet University and local Savannakhet leaders. This was far more than a knowledge-sharing session; it was a crucial step in collaboratively charting a strategy for a smart, sustainable, and prosperous agricultural future in the region.
We firmly believe that the key to achieving true Sustainable Development lies in the strong collaboration between three pillars:
Academia: Boosting capacity and research at the University level.
Government: Establishing the necessary policy framework and favorable environment.
Technology: Providing advanced and effective AgriCapture solutions.
Thank you to Savannakhet University and the local leadership for the warm welcome and for demonstrating such a strong commitment to innovation. We hope the seeds of ideas planted today will grow into major achievements in sustainable agriculture.
We are committed to continuing our partnership with Laos and other ASEAN nations on this green agricultural transformation journey.
What do you believe is the single biggest challenge in adopting agricultural technology across Southeast Asia? Letβs discuss below! π
