We’re putting the SRO Spotlight on Darius Ward of the Augusta School District!

Darius Ward currently serves Augusta Schools as a School Resource Officer with the Augusta Police Department. Driven by a passion for keeping students safe and fostering positive relationships with law enforcement, Officer Ward believes some of the most impactful work happens through trust, consistency, and connection.

Whether building relationships on campus, supporting students at community events, or creating an environment where young people feel respected and heard, he is committed to being more than just a presence in the halls—he strives to be a trusted mentor, role model, and resource for the students he serves.

NEW ONLINE TRAINING AVAILABLE!

We’re offering a new 8-hour online course for SROs and educators: Lockdown Drills 101.

Lockdown drills are used in nearly all U.S. schools—but inconsistent practices can lead to confusion, added stress, and unintended trauma. Lockdown Drills 101 was developed to help schools move toward standardized, data-driven, and trauma-informed approaches to planning and conducting lockdown drills.

• Learn standardized procedures to train staff and colleagues
• Collect and analyze drill data to assess effectiveness
• Use data to improve and standardize practices

It’s Teacher Appreciation Week, and we just want to say THANK YOU to the amazing educators across Arkansas.

You do so much more than teach. You help create safe, supportive spaces where students can learn, grow, and feel at ease every day. We’re especially grateful for the way you work alongside School Resource Officers to keep your schools secure while still making them welcoming places for kids.

Your impact goes far beyond the classroom, and it doesn’t go unnoticed. We appreciate all you do for your students and your communities!
