📊✨ The LRSD Teaching and Learning Department has wrapped up its Math Model Classroom Teacher Cohort 1, launched last summer!

Participants from across the District were selected by building and district leaders in recognition of their leadership and impact. Throughout the cohort, teachers engaged in learning focused on high-impact instructional strategies and strengthening the math community in classrooms, all with the goal of improving math experiences for every learner across LRSD.

We celebrate the dedication and growth of these educator leaders as they continue to elevate math instruction throughout the District! 💡📚

Today was something truly special.

Our very first Senior Alumni Walk was filled with smiles, hugs, cheers, and so many full-circle moments. Watching our former Snow Leopards walk the halls again as graduating seniors was heartwarming and a reminder that once you’re part of the Gibbs family, you always belong here.

We are so excited to celebrate these students as they begin their next journey beyond high school, and we already know this beautiful tradition will continue for years to come.

Once a Snow Leopard, always a Snow Leopard. ✨

Today we’re thankful for all of our teachers and the impact they make every day.
And that impact was on full display last night as Debbie Petross (kindergarten teacher) represented Gibbs at the LRSD Teacher of the Year banquet. Congratulations to her on being named the Gibbs International Magnet Teacher of the Year for 2025–2026! We’re proud of you! 💙💚

We are excited to invite our graduates back home for our Inaugural Alumni Senior Walk!💙💚

Join us on Wednesday, May 20th at 2:00 PM as we celebrate YOU and all you’ve accomplished! The event will begin with a special reception for our honorees, followed by a walk through the halls of Gibbs, and will end with a group photo on the playground.

Day 5 ~ As we prepare to return to the contiguous US states, we wanted to share a few more pictures from our experience Kayaking! Gibbs scholars and teachers were brave, and everyone made it back to the shore safely!

Day 4 ~ Yesterday was a long day, and we will update you on our adventures of Day 3 later! We spent the day in the El Yunque National Forest! We hiked and learned all about the history of the forest and its wildlife! We have a long evening ahead of us, but please enjoy this photo diary of today’s adventure!
