In just 7 days, our classrooms will be buzzing, our hallways will be full of smiles, and a brand-new school year will begin. We can't wait to welcome our students, families, and staff back for another incredible year in LRSD!

This year at Gibbs, our theme is ”I Am a Friend of the Earth,”and one of the most meaningful ways to live that theme is by building connections across cultures.

Did you know our very own Spanish teacher, Sra. Robertson, also serves as a local coordinator for United Studies Exchange Students? She is looking for caring families willing to host an international high school student for a semester or a school year.

Hosting an exchange student is more than providing a place to stay. It is:
-Promoting understanding between cultures
- Practicing kindness, empathy, and inclusion
-Learning about another language and way of life
-Showing that friendship knows no borders

Our school theme reminds us that caring for our world also means caring for the people who share it. By welcoming someone from another country, you’re helping create a more peaceful, connected, and compassionate world, one friendship at a time.

Ms. Jones and Mrs. Garrett (formerly known as Ms. Williams) are making the move to the intermediate hallway as our 3rd grade team! 🎉 We’re so excited to see all the amazing things they’ll do with our third graders this year.

📊✨ The LRSD Teaching and Learning Department has wrapped up its Math Model Classroom Teacher Cohort 1, launched last summer!

Participants from across the District were selected by building and district leaders in recognition of their leadership and impact. Throughout the cohort, teachers engaged in learning focused on high-impact instructional strategies and strengthening the math community in classrooms, all with the goal of improving math experiences for every learner across LRSD.

We celebrate the dedication and growth of these educator leaders as they continue to elevate math instruction throughout the District! 💡📚
