On Friday, our 4th and 5th graders got a special visit from some of our friends in the Parkview High School Theater Department as they presented “Arkansas Adventures!”

Arkansas history meets video games in this fun and engaging production that brought our state’s history to life in a whole new way. And to make it even more special, we got to see some Gibbs alumni take the stage!

What a full-circle moment! We love seeing our Snow Leopards continue to shine and share their talents with the next generation.

Yesterday marked the first of many visits to the Dunbar Community Garden for our 2nd–4th grade students—and the beginning of an exciting new chapter in a partnership that has deep roots at Gibbs.

The connection between Gibbs and the Dunbar Community Garden has been a long-standing one, although scheduling challenges, COVID, and other circumstances have created some pauses along the way. This year, we’re excited to reconnect and build on that relationship once again.

As part of our schoolwide theme, “I Am a Friend of the Earth,” and our commitment to meaningful service learning across our specialty classes, our World Language team has chosen the Dunbar Community Garden as the organization that they will partner with throughout the year.

Yesterday, our students got their first opportunity to learn, explore, and connect with a community resource right in our own neighborhood. And this is just the beginning!

We’re looking forward to many more trips, projects, lessons, and opportunities to grow together—while helping our students understand that being a global citizen starts with caring for the world and the community right outside our door.

Today, we proudly installed the 2026–2027 Gibbs International Magnet Mini United Nations!

U.S. Magistrate Judge Benecia Moore joined us for this special occasion and officially swore in our new Secretary General, Deputy Secretary General, 3rd–5th grade Ambassadors, and K–2nd grade Primary Delegates.

One of the most meaningful parts of the ceremony was having our parents join us to pin their newly sworn-in student leaders and sign the Leadership Pledge and Commitment Form alongside them. This partnership between our students, families, and school community reinforces the responsibility that comes with leadership.

We are excited to watch these young leaders grow, serve, collaborate, and represent Gibbs throughout the year. Here’s to a year of leadership, service, and making a difference!

And another one…The Snow Leopard volleyball team took on the Stephens Stars this weekend and walked off the court with another win!! 🥇 🏐 Come check them out this Saturday at 9am when they meet up with the Roberts Eagles at Mabelvale Middle School gym!

🎉 WE GOT A B! 🎉

Another year, another B—and we are PROUD of the progress our Snow Leopards continue to make! 💙💚

But you know we’re still coming for that A!

This achievement belongs to our incredible students, teachers, staff, and families. From showing up, every lesson taught, assignment completed, goal reached, challenge overcome, and family partnership has helped move Gibbs forward.

We’re celebrating the B! The work continues, the bar is high, and our Snow Leopards are ready!

Our 4th graders put their teamwork, problem-solving, and history skills to the test today during International Studies class in a Constitution Day Escape Room! They learned about the U.S. Constitution while working together to solve clues, crack the case, and recover the missing document.

And guess what?! TWO teams solved the mystery and opened the case containing the stolen Constitution—with time to spare! ⏰👏

What better way to celebrate Constitution Day than by learning about our nation’s founding document while thinking like historians, investigators, and problem-solvers?

1st game. 1st Win! Congrats to our new volleyball team for bringing home the W this weekend at their very first game! We are so proud! If you missed them this weekend, don’t worry—you can catch them next Saturday when they take on Stephens Elementary at 12:45p! All games are played at Mabelvale Middle School gym! 🏐

Today was our first bank day of the year!! And our Snow Leopards showed up!!! 62 deposits totaling $2,001.89!!! As always, thanks to Andrea Hogan Lewis and her team from First Security Bank for instilling the joy and importance of saving into our young leaders!! And congrats to our new banking student team! They did an excellent job on their first day of work!

Today was filled with excitement, energy, laughter, and a whole LOT of Snow Leopard spirit! 💛💚🧡💜House Sort is truly one of our favorite days of the year as we welcome our new students into the Gibbs family and officially kick off another year of HOUSE pride!

Our houses represent Service. Peace. Grace. Kindness. And today, we set the stage for a year of living those values, serving others, growing together, and—of course—a little friendly competition along the way!

Four houses. One family. One incredible year ahead!
