The AR Geographic Critical Needs Minority Teacher Scholarship Program is accepting applications through September 8.
Eligibility Criteria:
African American, Hispanic American, Asian American or Native American
Full time or part time in Arkansas public or independent 2 or 4 year institution
2.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale
Written agreement to teach in Delta region or area in state in which there exists a critical shortage of teachers

On August 31, 2018, the School of Education, in collaboration with Easterseals Arkansas, welcomed students in the Academics, Community, Career Development and Employment Program (ACCE) to campus for an orientation. Dr. Jennifer Hune and Dr. Bruce Smith, our Special Education faculty, and Dr. Rachel Eells, Interim Director of SOE were able to greet instructors, students and their families before their classes officially started in September.
ACCE is a post-secondary education program that allows students with intellectual and developmental disabilities to have a college experience and prepare for competitive employment.
We can't wait to see all you accomplish this year, students!

The university of Arkansas at Little Rock has named Dr. Rachel Eells, an accomplished teacher and administrator as the new interim director of the School of Education.

Rachel Eells earned her bachelor's degree in elementary and special education from Concordia College followed by a master's degree in gifted and talented education at UALR and later earned her Ph.D. in educational psychology from Loyola University Chicago
