Four Little Rock Central High choirs took the stage at the Arkansas State Choral Contest on Friday, April 17 and what a day it was. Each ensemble rose at exactly the right moment. The energy, the connection, the heart… it was felt in every note and shared with everyone in the room. A day like that doesn’t just happen, it’s built over time, through growth, trust, and commitment. Thank you to our incredible accompanists: Karen Eychaner, Shane Fudge, Vienna Lewis, Cameron Crowder and Betsy Curtis. ARKCDA STATE CHORAL FESTIVAL 2026 RESULTS: Madrigals and Lab Singers both earned Superior ratings from all three judges at ArkCDA State Choral Festival 2026 earning the Sweepstakes distinction. Lab Singers also earned Best in Class 5A Mixed Large Chorus and Overall Best in Class 5A Large Chorus. We are very proud of the consistency, focus, and preparation these students brought to rehearsals and to the stage! #FineArtsLRSD @fineartslrsd

ACT-SO (Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics) is a major achievement program sponsored by the NAACP. Known as the "Olympics of the Mind," it’s designed to encourage and recognize academic and artistic excellence among African American high school students.

Key Highlights:
* Purpose: Provides a platform for students (grades 9–12) to compete for scholarships and recognition in fields beyond athletics.
* Categories: Over 30 areas, including STEM, Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Humanities, Business, and Culinary Arts.
* Rewards: Participants can win gold, silver, or bronze medals, along with cash scholarships and high-tech prizes.

* Application Deadline: Wednesday, April 16, 2026
* Auditions: Monday, April 20th at 5:00 PM
* Location: Parkview Arts & Science Magnet High School, Little Rock, AR

The Little Rock Central High School Band will be hosting the Air Force Band's Airmen of Note Big Band, from Washington D.C., on April 24th for a FREE concert. The concert will be held at Little Rock Central High School's auditorium at 7:00pm. Tickets are free; however, you must go online to reserve your free ticket. The community is invited to attend.

Also, the Little Rock Central High School Orchestra, Jazz Band, Concert Band and Wind Ensemble spring concert will be held on April 27th at 6:00pm. It is free to the public and everyone is invited to attend this concert as well!
