A new systemwide strategic plan and revised budgets for major capital projects were approved today during a special meeting of the Arkansas State University System Board of Trustees.
The board also honored the legacy of former president Les Wyatt and donors Dash Goff and Hytrol Conveyors.

Dr. Heide Banse, dean of the Arkansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine, recently shared the vision and plans for the college at Little Rock Rotary Club 99. She was joined by a member of the first class, Gavin Brown, of Cabot.
Members of the ASU System Board of Trustees and ASU System executive team attended the event spotlighting the state's first vet school.
A-State will celebrate the grand opening of the new vet school facilities in Jonesboro on Aug. 11, and the inaugural cohort begins classes on Aug. 12.

The Arkansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine is crossing another milestone as it prepares to open its doors and welcome the first class of students next month with a grand opening event on Aug. 11.
“We are delighted to welcome our inaugural class to campus for orientation starting Aug. 6 with class beginning Aug. 12,” said Dr. Heidi Banse, dean of the CVM.
Ahead of the start of classes, a grand opening and ribbon-cutting will be held for the much-anticipated building. The event will be held at 11 a.m. on Aug. 11. In attendance will be the ASU System Board of Trustees, ASU System President Todd Shields, A-State Interim Chancellor Calvin White Jr., and members of the CVM team.
