UALR awarded cyber security grant LITTLE ROCK — The National Science Foundation has awarded a grant of more than $289,000 to faculty of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s Department of Computer Science that could improve cypersecurity for people using mobile technology and social networking sites.

REU Site at UALR is recruiting undergraduate students

Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) in Cyber Security and Forensics at UALR

Motivated and talented students are invited to apply for paid summer research internships to gain hands-on research experience in cyber security and forensics, in particular, the security and forensics problems in mobile computing, cloud computing, and social computing. This opportunity is open to only ten students across the country.

Highlights:
- Eight week paid program (June 2 to July 25, tentative) - $4,000 stipend in total
- Travel, housing and meals will be provided as necessary
- Open to Sophomore, Junior, & Senior students in computer science or related majors
- Students in Math, Physics, or Engineering are also encouraged to apply

Application Deadline: March 31, 2014
Requirements: Students must be U.S. Citizen or Permanent Residents
