Another day of future Belles! 💜 Our second Shadow Day of the year was full of new friends, new experiences, and lots of Mount spirit. We loved having these girls on campus and showing them what it’s like to be a !

A tremendous congratulations to seniors Rachel Dam and Danica Sauter, who have been named National Merit Semifinalists in the 72nd annual National Merit Scholarship Program! 💜

As two of the highest-scoring students in Arkansas on the PSAT/NMSQT, Rachel and Danica are among more than 16,000 Semifinalists nationwide, representing less than 1% of the Class of 2027.

This prestigious recognition celebrates their exceptional academic achievement and puts them in the running to become National Merit Finalists and compete for one of approximately 6,700 National Merit Scholarships to be awarded next spring.

We are incredibly proud of these two Mount girls and all they have accomplished! Congratulations, Rachel and Danica! 🎓💜

Congratulations to Sydney Shalin ’27, who has been selected as a 2026 Arkansas Women’s Hall of Fame Girl of Distinction! Sydney was one of just five young women chosen for this year’s honor, giving her the incredible opportunity to attend the Hall of Fame induction ceremony, meet this year’s inductees and help es**rt them to the stage.

An AP Scholar and leader across campus, Sydney serves as President of both Belle Ambassadors and Bring Change to Mind and is involved in Mu Alpha Theta, Beta Club, Drama Club, Make-A-Wish Club and the International Thespian Society. She also gives back to her community through service and advocacy.

“Getting nominated and then chosen as a Girl of Distinction was truly an honor of a lifetime,” Sydney shared. “Celebrating these inspiring women will forever be a highlight of my life!”

Sydney’s recognition continues an incredible Mount tradition. For the eighth consecutive year, a Mount girl has been selected as a Girl of Distinction, and Mount St. Mary Academy is the only school to have had a student selected every year since the program began in 2017.

We are so proud of Sydney and the way she represents the Mount through her leadership, service and commitment to making a difference!

Before heading out to their service sites, our juniors brought their car keys to Father Fred for a special blessing. 🔑 As part of our Junior Service Learning Program, students spend the year putting their faith into action through service in our community, and for many, that means driving to their service site each week.

We are so excited for all they will learn, the lives they will touch, and how they will grow in their faith this year. Join us in praying for our juniors - for their faith, their service, and their safety throughout the year! 🙏💜

There is truly nothing else like MSM’s Opening Pep Rally!

One of our loudest and most fun days of the year, our seniors kicked things off with an amazing “Seniors Live!” featuring Family Feud, The Voice, and Dancing with the Stars! Freshman Cheer, Varsity Cheer, and the Rockettes brought even more Mount spirit, we announced our fall sport rosters, and even welcomed a special appearance from Betty Belle.

And most importantly… the seniors took home the Spirit Stick! 🏆💜

The officially began their Mount journey at our Opening School Mass last week! 💜

Our 139 newest Mount sisters, representing more than 20 schools, started their first day by walking through the Mount’s historic front gates on Kavanaugh and into the McAuley Center. Four years from now, they’ll walk back out through that same gate after their Closing Prayer Service as seniors - one of our most special traditions.

Our freshmen also received their Mercy Cards, one of the traditions shared by every Mount student, and Student Body President Emerson Chambers ’27 announced this year’s button theme: “Rooted in Mercy.”

Welcome to the Mount, Class of 2030! We can’t wait to see all of the amazing things you will accomplish over the next four years.
