Revenue was up significantly in April, coming in 28.5% greater than last April.

APRIL 2026 STATE REVENUE REPORT — inVeritas The Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) reported today that April General Revenue collections were 28.5%, or $184.5 million, greater than last year. Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders issued a proclamation on Thursday, April 30, calling the Arkansas General Assembly into an Extraordinary Session, which will convene on Monday, May 4.

The governor called the session to, according to the proclamation, “amend the individual income tax brackets and rates to a top rate of 3.7%, effective January 1, 2026, and following tax years.” The proclamation further states that the session is also to cover the amendment of “income tax brackets and rates for domestic and foreign corporations to a top tax rate of 4.1%, effective January 1, 2027, and following tax years…”

Currently in Arkansas, the top individual income tax rate is 3.9% and the top corporate income tax rate is 4.3%.

This week, legislators finalized the 2026 Fiscal Session that developed the $6.7 billion state budget. Governor Sanders signed the budget into law on Wednesday, April 29, and it goes into effect on July 1.
