This team has been studying all things school lunch for months and was able to visit with a Nutritionist who does all the ordering for the LRSD! They may even have an opportunity to serve on a student committee for breakfast amd lunch options soon!

Had a wonderful afternoon with this awesome group of EAST students from Little Rock Central High School. They pitched their team's plans for a partnership with our elementary EAST at Stephens Elementary LRSD and we were super excited to give them the green light!

A team of students met with the LRSD Assistant Director of Maintenance & Operations about the process and cost of getting swings installed on our playground.
They've researched the health benefits, picked a location, understand the install requirements, and will now put together a budget and proposal for our Grants Department and other Administrators.

Wow. One of our 5th grade students just absolutely knocked her project pitch out of the Park. She presented to the Chief Education Officer and Director of Community Programs with the City of Little Rock as well as others involved with spend for the Federal Byrne grant for reducing violence in our community. Super proud!

The EAST room was buzzing this afternoon with research on nutrition and school lunches, learning ArchiCAD to design an outdoor classroom, and planning a software that meets Dept. of Corrections criteria to keep families better connected with an incarcerated parent. Kicking off the new year right!
