STEAM for the Next Generation

STEAM for the Next Generation STEAM for the Next Generation is an innovative program for 8th-12th grade homeschoolers in Arkansas. Our in-person meetings occur on Tuesdays in Maumelle.

STEAM for the Next Generation is a program for homeschoolers that are in 8th grade and up. We strive to teach students the WHY in all that they are learning with us. This is accomplished through collaborative and project-based learning that is unlike anything else you will find in the area. We love to expose our students to STEAM related fields by offering unique field trip opportunities and hosting guest speakers. Our program meets two days a week, but only one of those days requires a commute. We also meet on Thursdays via a live Zoom. A digital learning system is utilized so that students and parents can have access to all assignments, grades, etc. There is no required parent duty, parent grading, or registration fees.

✈️ One of the best parts of teaching is seeing where your students go next.

Today we had a pretty special full-circle moment in physics. Former STEAM student Chris Jakovenko joined us on Zoom from Auburn University, where he is training to become a commercial pilot.

With our vectors unit coming up, Chris gave students a real-world look at how the physics we study in class actually shows up in aviation....from velocity and wind to vectors and navigation.

Having a former student come back and share where his education is taking him? That’s the good stuff. ❤️✈️

Getting to watch our students work hard, grow, and accomplish big things is one of the very best parts of what we do.
