Today, we celebrated Why Apply Day by repping Arkansas’ colleges and universities!

DCTE is proud to show students that enrolling in a CTE pathway isn’t just about classes—it’s about planning for high-demand, high-wage careers and building a success-ready future.

Thanks to the LEARNS Act, students begin mapping their path as early as 8th grade, making each enrollment decision a step toward opportunity.

Congratulations to Marion High School on being recognized by ACT as a School of Excellence!

We are excited to announce the American College Application Campaign’s 2024 School of Excellence awardees. Let’s celebrate these 26 exemplary schools from across the nation that are paving the way for students to pursue postsecondary success.

2024 was an outstanding year for the Campaign, with 5,854 schools helping more than 477,000 seniors submit at least one college application during events. This represents an increase of more than 10,000 students compared to last year.

"Each year, we are inspired by the dedication of schools across the country in helping students take the next step toward their postsecondary goals, and this year is no exception," said ACT CEO Janet Godwin. "These schools are making the college application process more accessible and less intimidating, ensuring that more students from all backgrounds have the opportunity to pursue higher education.”

Winning schools worked with high school seniors from all backgrounds to help them better understand the college admissions process through a series of weeklong to monthlong events —ultimately empowering them to complete an application. We celebrate the educators, administrators, staff, and volunteers and their commitment to student success.

“There’s something that’s so rewarding about seeing our state coordinators take part in helping students navigate the admission process,” said ACAC Director Lisa King. “Students feel more confident and empowered to apply to college, and thanks to initiatives like the American College Application Campaign, it all serves as a reminder of the impact we can have.”
