Proudly sharing Tiffany’s Success Story!

Tiffany Matheny reached out to ARS for help with achieving her dream of becoming a court reporter. ARS helped Tiffany with essential court reporting training and receiving proper credentials. In less than 3 years, Tiffany was able to complete the training program and started working as a substitute court reporter for the state of Arkansas. We are thrilled to witness her successful journey!

Jakiyah Williams refused to let her autism diagnosis hold her back and with the assistance of her ARS Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, she got a job as a medical equipment preparer at UAMS. She ensures that all the necessary medical equipment is properly cleaned, assembled, and stored. This involves collaborating with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to determine their equipment needs.

In 2013, Tanish Stokes faced the challenge of a lifetime when she was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, disrupting her life and career. But with help from Arkansas Rehabilitation Services (ARS) and her vocational counselor, Tanisha’s resilience has shined through. Tanisha dove into UALR’s small business department, crafting a business plan that ARS believed in. Today, as the proud owner of Stokes Hair Care, Tanisha specializes in natural hair and products. She thanks ARS for the crucial role they played in her journey to success!

In June 2023, Mirian Barroso teamed up with Arkansas Rehabilitation Services to start her journey to self-reliance. Thanks to ARS and ACDC’s Driver Ed I program, she conquered her Learner’s Permit. Now, Mirian is attending NWACC with dreams of transferring to the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville to pursue Social Work. She expressed heartfelt thanks to ARS for unwavering support on this journey to independence and for helping her stay on a steady path to success.

Earlier this year, Greg Duckworth, a recent high school graduate with dreams of becoming a welder, discovered Arkansas Rehabilitation Services. With support from ARS, he enrolled in a vocational program at Black River Technical College, excelling in Structural Steel and Pipe Welding. Now, Greg has landed a fulfilling position at Big River Steel Plant and said he feels much gratitude to the entire ARS team, especially his counselor, Mr. Lloyd. Congrats Greg!

Thanks to Arkansas Rehabilitation Services (ARS), Cade Johnson partnered with a Vocational Rehabilitation counselor who guided him through employment eligibility, paving the way for a fulfilling career despite having physical constraints from scoliosis. Together, they tackled challenges, developed solutions, and with ARS’s support, Cade trained as a welder with Thompson Construction Group, marking the start of his remarkable career!

November Success Stories - Meeting People Who Matter!
Tevin Poole always had the dream of becoming a licensed barber, but his disability hindered his path to success. That is, until he found Arkansas Rehabilitation Services and was connected with the necessary support to complete his program at DeSigner Barber School. ARS also helped Tevin with accommodations for the Arkansas State Board of Barbers exam, which he passed! After earning his license, Tevin is now planning his future as a traveling barber and grateful to ARS for helping make his dreams attainable!
