Planning your fall high tunnel? Now is the time to think about what you'll plant—and when.

Fall high tunnels are great for extending the growing season and producing cool-season crops well into the fall and winter. But timing is important! You want crops to have enough time to establish before shorter days and cooler temperatures slow growth, while avoiding planting so early that crops have to struggle through the late-summer and early-fall heat.

Some common fall high tunnel crops include:
🥬 Lettuce
🌱 Spinach
🥕 Carrots
🥦 Broccoli
🥬 Kale
🌿 Swiss chard
🌱 Beets
🌱 Radishes

When should you plant them? That depends on the crop, your location, and whether you're aiming for a fall harvest or overwintering production.
