I certainly have been changed on this adventure to Wonderland.
🦋More confident.
🫶🏻More collaborative.
🎗️More committed.
I will never stop fighting for those affected by cancer here in Arkansas - and I have hundreds of friends, colleagues, and even people I haven’t had the chance to meet - fighting alongside me.

💐It was a pleasure to be back on stage with Best Dressed Little Rock and it was an even greater honor, to serve as your Chair for 2026.
💐I want to thank Alexandra Beard and the entire The American Cancer Society team for entrusting me with this one in a lifetime role. It would be impossible to imagine this journey down the rabbit hole without your encouragement and expertise thru every twist and turn.
💐Most of all, I want to thank our tireless volunteers, dedicated honorees, and generous sponsors - for bringing us closer to this magical Wonderland.

I don’t think I’ve ever welcomed a month with so much hope and excitement! Finally on August 21st, I get to share an amazing evening with supporters of the American Cancer Society as the Chair of our Best Dressed Ball Little Rock! Prepare to be immersed in Wonderland - a world without cancer. It’s going to be a whimsical evening full of high style, plenty of surprises, and a mission near and dear to my heart. You’d be mad to miss it.

🐇I’m so amazed by what our leadership team, volunteers, and incredible honorees have worked towards these past four months. The time and dedication that each individual has put towards raising vital funds for cancer patients in Arkansas inspires me in my own work as a cancer surgeon.

🕰️I could go on about the event and the wonderful people making it happen, but I think I’ll let you read it for yourself in this month’s issue of Inviting Arkansas who was so kind to feature our event! Thank you to the talented team behind the scenes of this photo!

👠🏥💄Kinda Chic to be a Surgeon💄🏥👠
This week marks the end of 7 years in practice. It’s taken some time to find my style in and out of the hospital, but here’s my quick guide of things I have found are incredibly chic in my line of work.
1. Overdressing for work occasions - why not when not in scrubs!
2. Washing your hands - always!
3. Showing up for others - don’t let little snow can’t stop you!
4. Being kind to everyone - but ESPECIALLY the people who feed you!
5. Wearing scrubs over sweaters - if you’re new here, you’ll learn that fast because Fall is coming!
6. Leading and Learning - it’s so much more than the CME!
7. Having a Support System - Fur babies are the best!
8. Being met with Gratitude - and sharing that with others.
Excited to see what year 8 brings!!

🍓🫜🫛Summer Seed Sewing 🫛🫜🍓
I am proof that even if you can barely finish a pillow in Middle School Home Economics, you can still making a living sewing (😷👩🏻‍⚕️). As for taking up sewing as a hobby - you can do that, too.
Showing off this easy wrap skirt I made a few weekends ago out of the cutest vintage fabric with fruits, flowers, and veggies.

Grateful to live in this country.
My parents drove a van with 3rd row seating so I could sing my favorite childhood song: The Star Spangled Banner - without disturbing the whole car. Now I can’t sing it without choking up.
I’ll never be too old for fireworks.
Lakes are made for making memories.
Strawberries taste sweeter when shared with nieces (even if they like them freeze dried).
I do actually wish I could be on call for the Nathan’s Famous Franks hot dog eating contest.
One of my core memories is making patriotic puff-paint t-shirts with my cousins.
Someday, I’d like to watch fireworks from a lawn in a silk gown while an ensemble plays along.
Our farm makes me feel connected to the country and to the country way of life.
America is Beautiful.
Every heart is kind.
I do love it here.

🕶️🪲🌖Late Nights in the Middle of June🌔🪲🕶️
A fitting song for this evening as we said goodbye to our graduating Surgery Chief Residents.
A song about losing a friend, accepting defeat, and the vulnerability of not being able to make everyone happy.
As chiefs - you are leaving your closest friends for the last five years, acknowledging the struggles those years brought, and recognizing wherever you’re going - you’re starting all over - brand new and there will be new wounds and new mistakes made.
For the residents left behind: Hold on to those late nights on call and operating in the middle of June with your friends - one day they’re gone.
Congratulations on this part of the ride! It’s been a privilege watching you all grow.
