Stephen Williams, director of admissions for the UAMS Fay W. Boozman College of Public Health, earned our Excellence in Administrative Support award.
Williams takes pride in being able to support students throughout their academic journey. He views his job as an opportunity to help remove barriers and provide students with guidance as they become public health professionals.
“Knowing that the students I’m working with will go on to make a real difference in their community, that makes it all worth it,” he said.
As for being a public health professional, Williams — a native of Shreveport, Louisiana — is grateful to work in a field that aims to improve the lives of entire populations.
“I greatly appreciate public health because it’s about taking care of our communities, addressing real challenges, protecting our environment, and making sure everyone has the support, resources, and opportunities to live healthier, better lives,” he said.
