SHE DON’T NEED DIAMONDS, SHE JUST NEEDS YOU
There is something dangerously attractive about a woman you don’t have to impress. Maybe that’s just what happens when you get old enough to realize the peacock routine is completely exhausting.
You don’t need to show up in the nicest car. You don’t need to rattle off your accomplishments, your bank account, your muscles, or your scars. You can just sit there, drink your coffee, talk about nothing, and laugh at something stupid. Somehow, that quiet space feels more intimate than every polished version of yourself you’ve ever put on display.
The right woman isn’t looking at the costume; she’s looking at the man underneath it. That can be terrifying, because underneath the armor is where the real s**t lives—the mistakes, the doubts, and the strange pieces of your personality that don’t photograph well.
Anybody can be impressed. Being understood is a completely different animal.
The same rule applies to her. I don’t want a woman performing perfection either. Give me the woman who laughs too loud, changes her mind, has strange habits, and has dreams bigger than her bio. Give me the woman who can sit across from the table without auditioning for the role of “perfect woman.”
Eventually, you realize you aren’t looking for someone to impress. You’re looking for someone you can finally stop performing around.
Two imperfect people taking off the costumes, sitting down, and essentially saying: This is me. What you see is what you get.
When you find that, things get dangerous. Because you’re no longer falling for the performance—you’re falling for the person. And that’s a hell of a lot harder to fake.
Because there’s nothin’ like a woman who don’t need diamonds. She just needs you.
