Listen to beautiful music like Vivaldi's The Four Seasons and create abstract watercolor art inspired by the tempo, rhythm, and mood of the music.

Sandy Johnson joined the teaching staff in the late 1980s as a piano specialist. In the 1990-91 school year, Sandy became director of the Music Center when Sister Cecilia left to open a satellite music school in St. Cloud. During her tenure, Sandy introduced teachers and students to the Minnesota Music Teachers Association and Kindermusik, expanding educational opportunities and enriching the Music Center’s programs. A few years later, she left to found the Great River Arts Association.

Sandy’s leadership helped guide the Music Center through a period of growth and innovation, strengthening its impact on students and families throughout the region. By becoming a Friend of the Music Center, you can help continue that tradition of excellence, ensuring that quality music education and creative opportunities remain available for future generations.

2026 Green Fair Folk Festival IS TODAY Wednesday, August 5, from 4-8 p.m., on the west lawn of St. Francis Convent, Little Falls.

There is over 40 vendors and exhibitors joining us! We hope you will too. 😄

Paul Coffel joined the teaching staff at the Music Center in the late 1980s. He taught guitar for many years and designed the Composer’s Lab, which was innovative and ahead of its time for our rural area. Students and area composers loved working with samplers, drum machines, and other creative electronic tools that opened new avenues for musical expression.

Paul’s vision helped shape the Music Center’s commitment to creativity and innovation, leaving a lasting impact on generations of students. You can help preserve and expand this legacy by becoming a Friend of the Music Center.
