These awards honor the dedication, hard work, and leadership of innovative school staff throughout Sourcewell’s central Minnesota service region. The awards ceremony was held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.

“Darin works really hard to keep his classroom neat and organized, even though a Level IV setting can be tough since students are often working through big emotions. One thing that stands out about him is how much he truly cares about helping his students learn how to handle those emotions and succeed. He’s really passionate about giving his students everything he can and creating a space where they feel supported. With the wide range of needs in the classroom, it can be challenging to meet every student where they’re at, especially with limited classroom supply support, but he still puts in the effort every day to do the best he can for them.”

✨ Behavior Support Specialist (BSS) ✨

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to fill our Behavior Support role. This position maintains positive behavior supports for students with significant social-emotional and behavioral needs in an educational setting. The BSS works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support students and young adults who are experiencing crisis and dysregulation through their actions, behavior, and language. You will collaborate with education teams to develop positive behavior interventions and behavior support plans, teach and model appropriate coping skills, use de-escalation techniques, and reinforce positive student behavior.

Students who ride Upsala District transportation will be dismissed at 11:00 am.

Due to inclement weather and possibly hazardous conditions, Mid-State Education District will be dismissing students at 12:00 pm today, December 9, 2025, unless determined earlier by the student's district transportation:

Students who ride Upsala District transportation will be dismissed at 11:00 am.
