Litchfield Christian School

Litchfield Christian School We exist to strengthen families and empower children with a Christ-centred education to learn, lead, and serve in the church, community, and home. ( 3:17-19).

Mission
To empower children with a Christian education to flourish in the church, community, and home. We accomplish this mission by being empowered by the Spirit and guided by the Word. In fellowship with the church, we unite families to God’s goodness in Christ by partnering with parents to strive to provide students with a robust education so that they may grow in knowledge and wisdom of our Lo

rd, use their gifts to love their neighbor and make much of Jesus in the church, community, and home. Six Core Convictions

Faith
Children are spiritual beings made in the image of God; therefore, we will instruct your child’s heart and mind to worship God in spirit and truth (Genesis 1:26-27; Proverbs 1:7; John 4:12). Reason
God has endowed children with reason; therefore, to flourish, we must develop it to exercise it; therefore, we will teach your child to exercise discernment and to walk in knowledge (Proverbs 4:7-9; Psalm 32:9). Wisdom
God has sovereignly set consistent patterns of creational order in place; therefore, education must teach certain basic subject matters that reveal those patterns to all people; therefore, we will instruct your child’s heart and mind in moral and practical wisdom that helps them flourish (Genesis 2; Psalm 19; Matthew 5-7). Truth
God’s truth is the center of all instruction; therefore, the inculcating of truth must be the priority in the learning environment; therefore, we will teach your child eternal and creational truths and ways to practice to help them flourish (Psalm 19:1-7; 119: 142; John 14:6.) Tradition
God’s eternal and earthly wisdom has been passed down throughout the ages; therefore, what has been proven over time must be taught; therefore, we will instruct your child’s mind and heart with earthly and eternal wisdom that has been proven over time (Job 12:12; 32:7). Maturity
God commands children to be discipled into adulthood; therefore, education must prepare the child to walk wisely in the ways of the Lord; therefore, we will guide your child toward maturity as they grow into adulthood (Deuteronomy 6:1-6; Proverbs 7:1-3; Ephesians 5:15-21)

Six Core Values

Work Ethic
We believe in the importance of work ethic because it is a reflection of God's creation. Work is considered good and therefore, we value the act of working diligently. (Gen 1:27; 2:5). We understand that life can be challenging and requires hard work to thrive. The psalmist says to the one who works hard, “You will surely eat what your hands have worked for. You will be happy, and it will go well for you (Psalm 128:2).” At Litchfield Christians School, our students will learn the biblical value of work and participate in opportunities to practice a strong work ethic in academics and athletics. Responsibility
The Bible teaches the importance of both personal and collective responsibility. Personal responsibility involves taking ownership of one's duties and carrying them out with integrity. (Proverbs 28:13; Gal 6:5). Collective responsibility involves protecting and caring for those in your church, community, and home. (Luke 10:30-37; 1 Tim 5:8; Gal 6:2). At Litchfield Christian School, our students will embrace the biblical value of responsibility, promoting integrity and unity with God and their neighbors. Accountability
Accountability is a fundamental value that ensures transparency, responsibility, and trust within the church, community, and home. In the biblical context, accountability means taking ownership of one's actions, as nothing is hidden from God, and we are all accountable to Him. Therefore, we must be mindful of our actions and be prepared to give an account of them. (Hebrews 4:13). At Litchfield Christian School, students embrace biblical accountability by upholding integrity and receiving and exercising it with peers. Courage
Courage is a virtue that gives strength to the heart to carry out one's responsibilities even in the face of extreme danger and frightening circumstances. It is important to note that courage does not mean the absence of fear, but rather the ability to overcome fear and hopelessness in order to fulfill one's duty. Biblical courage teaches us that God never abandons His people (Deuteronomy 31:23; Joshua 1:9), that He strengthens them and helps them (Isaiah 41:10), and that He offers His goodness to those who set their hearts to follow His ways (Psalm 27:13-14). At Litchfield Christian School, our students will develop strong convictions to honor God and carry out their responsibilities with courage. Compassion
God shows compassion to all, sending rain and sun equally. (Matthew 5:45-46). Jesus sought the poor and the vulnerable with love and care (Luke 4:18-19). James commends honorable religion is to look after the orphan and the widow (James 1:27). Compassion must be practiced towards others, as Christ offers to us. At Litchfield Christian School, our students practice kindness, protect the weak, and demonstrate empathy toward the vulnerable. Excellence
Our goal is to honor God in all we do, big or small. (1 Cor 10:31; Colossians 3:23). Achieving greatness requires going through the pains of growth. It is through growth that we learn valuable lessons from our mistakes as we strive for high standards. Effort is highly valued as it serves as a catalyst for students to achieve excellence in their church, community, and home. At Litchfield Christian School, our students strive for excellence in the church, community, and home, glorifying God and loving their neighbor.

We’re excited to welcome Mrs. Davis to our LCS family as our new Head of Preschool! 🎉

Mrs. Davis brings a wealth of experience working with children and families, including time as a substitute teacher, early childhood educator, and most recently as the Director of her church’s Childcare Center. Her years of experience have only strengthened her passion for early childhood education and helping children learn, grow, and thrive.

Mrs. Davis and her husband, Mike, have four children: Logan, August, Adrian, and Sami. We’re grateful God has brought the Davis family to LCS and the Litchfield community, and we look forward to the Christ-centered care, leadership, and joy she will bring to our youngest Lancers.

Help us give the Davis family a warm welcome in the comments! 💙 You'll be getting to know more about Mrs. Davis soon.
