Featuring award-winning author, naturalist, adventurer, and ally to all creatures, Sy Montgomery. Sy brings readers closer to the natural world through stories filled with wonder, empathy, and curiosity. Across nearly 40 books, her work has inspired compassion and deeper understanding for countless species.

Reading of Victim's names of 9/11

Good morning everyone. We will be commemorating the 25th Anniversary of 9/11 with a reading of the names of all the victims of the terrorist acts of that day. We will begin a livestream at 8:46 a.m. with Executive Director Berta Andrulis Mette starting the recitation. Any one is welcome to come to the Community Center and participate in the reading. We anticipate finishing by 12:30 p.m.
As we remember this day, we wish for peace for all in our community, nation and throughout the world, today and always.

Powerful Tools for Caregivers Series is back!
A Free Six-Week Class, sponsored by The Litchfield Health & Wellness Resources, Inc. runs from Tue, October 6 - November 10th from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
This program is FREE and facilitated by: Susan Levine RN, retired and Tina Bernacki RN, retired.

This nationally accredited program is designed to give caregivers the tools needed to take care of themselves while they care for someone with a chronic and/or debilitating condition. The classes help caregivers develop self-care strategies to reduce stress, improve self-confidence, better communicate feelings, balance their lives, and increase their abilities to make tough decisions.

On Thursday, September 24, the Litchfield Community Center will be hosting a theatrical performance entitled, “Vincent, A Portrait by the Postman Roulin” from 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm.

This intimate and revealing one-man show paints a portrait of the great artist, Vincent van Gogh, through the eyes of Vincent’s loyal friend, the Postman Roulin. The postman relays the artist’s amazing personal and artistic journey from his native Holland to the South of France. You are transported to a café in Auvers, France in the year 1890. Before you are two chairs, a table, a baguette in a country basket, a bottle of peasant w**e and two glasses. You are asked, “Would you like to share my bottle of w**e and talk? Sometimes strangers can have the most intimate conversations.”

Join author, educator, and Screen Actors Guild actor, Ted Zalewski as the Postman, captures the spirit of van Gogh the man, and the essence of van Gogh, the artist.
