The Danbury Police Department, in partnership with AAA, is hosting a Child Car Seat Installation Event on July 11th from 12PM–4PM at 93 Lake Avenue. Certified officers will be on-site to ensure your child’s car seat or booster is installed safely and correctly.

COOLING CENTERS June 11 - 14, 2026 🌞🌡

The Governor has activated the Hot Weather Protocol Thursday, June 11 through Sunday, June 14. The following cooling centers will be open to help residents stay safe during the extreme heat.

Anyone needing a place to get out of the heat can locate their nearest cooling center by calling 2-1-1.

Safety tips to help stay cool:
⚠️Stay hydrated.
⚠️ Run your errands early when possible.
⚠️ Avoid strenuous activity.
⚠️ Take frequent breaks to cool down.
⚠️ Check on your neighbors.

We were grateful to be invited to join the Danbury Public Schools & Family Resource Center this morning as they recognized the children and families at a moving-up ceremony for those moving on to preschool and kindergarten. A wonderful morning handing out diplomas to some very adorable graduates. Congratulations to the families and to Carmen Prybylski & the Danbury Public Schools for this fabulous program that does so much for our community.
