Tonight we said “see you later” to the 8th grade class of 2026! This class has been an amazing group of kids. They had one of the most unique experiences. They started at LTH when it was a normal middle school. As they entered their 7th grade year, Troy Gilbert Elementary joined the campus and completely changed the demographic. This class not only embraced the elementary students they took ownership of the new campus and found ways to become leaders. Our 8th graders were often found in elementary classrooms assisting with class projects, walking crying students to class and joining in on fun activities. The flexibility and tenacity of this group of students was visible. The promoting class of 2026 has left a mark on this campus and they will be remembered for years to come.

PRIDE, We wish you well in high school! You will do amazing things!

Today we had our second Career Exploration Day! A new crew of careers came to present. The presenters align their presentations to the Litchfield Learner traits and show our students the many opportunities for their future. We had a fireman, a midwife, Insurance agent and so much more! The students also got a virtual tour of the new campus. It was such a great day of learning and connecting school to next steps in life. Thank you to everybody who came out and made the day incredible for staff and students!

Happy Principal’s Day to our fearless leader, Mr. Jankee!

Mr. Jankee is truly the principal of our hearts! He was celebrated today by staff and students showing up in Badger (UW) red. Others also stole his hairstyle and we struggled to figure out who the real Mr. Jankee was all day. We ended the day with our parents honking in his honor. We are lucky to have such an amazing leader!

Exhausted and happy! The kids had a great time at Disneyland! Fourteen hours of walking, rides and making memories. It was an incredible day. Thank you to the chaperones who took a risk to show up for our students! Thank you families for entrusting us with your students and helping make this trip possible! Tomorrow we will all catch up on some much needed rest but tonight we fall asleep with smiles on our faces!

What a day?!?! The 8th grade field trip is underway and we have completed day one. We left at 5:00am and headed to California. Our first stop was the LA Farmer’s Market and then we headed to the Museum of Tolerance. The students walked through history and learned about the Holocaust. It was definitely a somber part of the trip. The students took in a lot of information. After the museum we headed to Medieval Times. The kids happily cheered on the red knight who let us down…however, we still had a great time! Tomorrow we head to Disneyland for more fun adventures!

Today Mrs. Bushong’s class took reading functional text off the page and put it to practice. The students had to read step by step how to tie a tie and accomplish it. Many laughs and frustrations were heard. Mrs. Bushong called in support from the men on campus. Mr. Jankee and Mr. Kane were ready to help out. When the students achieved it, they were so proud! Such a great use of reading skills, following directions and a life skill that may come in handy.
