When you think about the infrastructure that holds everyday life together, welding is somewhere in the story.

The bridges people drive across, the buildings they work in, the equipment that keeps manufacturers running. None of it stays standing without someone who learned to do the work right.

The Evening Welding Program at CCCTC Adult Education is built around that kind of real, lasting skill. Over nine months, students train hands-on in four industry-standard processes: Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding, Flux-Cored Arc Welding and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding.

By the time the program wraps up, graduates have earned both the AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Certification and OSHA 10 and are prepared for careers in manufacturing, fabrication, construction and beyond.

Classes start August 24 and run evenings from 4 to 9pm, so adding this kind of training to your life does not mean walking away from the one you already have.

Applications are open now. Visit our website to learn more: https://www.ccctc.k12.oh.us/Welding1.aspx.

The officers patrolling Columbiana County streets didn't get there by accident. They trained for it, and that training is available right here.

The CCCTC Police Academy runs Monday through Thursday evenings, 5 to 10 PM, making it one of the few programs in the area built around the schedules of working adults.

Small class sizes, some of the lowest tuition in the area and instruction led by Commander Brode alongside active local law enforcement professionals, it's a serious program designed to produce serious candidates.

The next academy begins August 24. One fitness test date remains before enrollment closes: June 23 at 9:00 AM at David Anderson High School Track (Memorial Stadium). Spots are limited for this year's class!

If you learn best by doing, welding might be the career you've been looking for.
CCCTC Adult Education's Evening Welding Program is built for adults who want real, hands-on training without putting their life on hold.

Starting August 24, the nine-month program runs evenings from 4 to 9pm, so you can keep working while you build the skills employers are actively looking for.

Over the course of the program, you'll train in four core welding processes: Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding and Flux-Cored Arc Welding. You'll also walk away with two industry-recognized certifications: the AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Certification and OSHA 10.

The demand for skilled welders in manufacturing, fabrication and construction is real. Many of our students are hired before they even finish the program.

Applications are open now. Financial aid is available for those who qualify.

Nine strangers walked in. Nine lifelong classmates and friends walked out.

That was the spirit of last night's graduation ceremony for CCCTC Adult Education's Police Academy Class of 2026, the fourth graduating class in the program's history.

Academy Commander Les Brode addressed the graduates with words that carried the full weight of what they'd earned.

"Behind you are months of late evenings, tested wills and sleepless nights studying case law, defensive tactics and de-escalation techniques," he said. "Ahead of you lies the thin blue line that separates chaos from order, fear from safety and despair from hope."

He reminded the class that the badge they'll receive isn't just a symbol of authority, but a promise. To treat every citizen with dignity. To be quick to listen and slow to anger. To be, as he put it, "the kind of officer you would want responding to your own mother's house at 3am."

These nine graduates came from different backgrounds and different walks of life. But they showed up every day, pushed through the hard parts together and crossed that finish line as one class.

Congratulations Class of 2026!

Last week we celebrated our May 2026 Welding graduates. This week, we are looking ahead to the next class, and there is still room for you.

The story we keep hearing from instructor Danny Boyle is the one that matters most. Three of this year's five graduates are already welding in the field, and employers are lining up to talk to the others. One went from $12 an hour at her previous job to $22 an hour at a Salem-area employer the week after she finished the program. That is a meaningful career change in less than a year.

CCCTC Adult Education's Welding program is built for working adults. Roughly nine months. Evening schedule. Designed so you can keep your day job while you train for a new one.

Employers in our area want skilled welders. We have the lab, the instructors and the connections to get our graduates hired. The next cohort is filling now.

Ready to talk? Call the office or visit our website. Your next chapter could start in the welding lab.

"You showed up. You pushed through the setbacks. You supported one another. And most importantly, you made it."

Those were the words of Adult Education Director Jenna Fox last night as CCCTC celebrated the May 2026 graduating classes of our Certified Clinical Medical Assistant and Welding programs. In her address to the graduates, Jenna reflected on what it took to reach the finish line. The long evenings. The early mornings. The full-time jobs juggled alongside classes, families and life.

"Sometimes you choose your hard," she told them, "and sometimes hard chooses you." Either way, this class made it through.

Superintendent Jeremy Corbisello opened the ceremony by thanking the families who stood behind every graduate, calling the night a celebration of "determination, perseverance and achievement." Student Services Coordinator Heather Raidel then presented each graduate, recognizing the personal journey behind every name called.

The results speak for themselves. Welding instructor Danny Boyle shared that most of his graduates have already started welding jobs in the field, with one recent grad nearly doubling their hourly wage right after earning her certification, and with more raises to come in short order as experience grows. That is what short-term training at CCCTC Adult Education looks like: real skills, real certifications, real careers, in months not years.

Thinking about a faster path to a better job? Enrollment is open now for these and other programs. Visit our website or call the office to learn more. Congratulations, Class of May 2026.
