SOY Much Fun on Farm Day 2026!🚜🌱

When the Wise family volunteered to bring some farm fun to school, we never imagined just how incredible the morning would be!

Farmer Wise kicked things off with a story and introduced our little learners to some new farm words. Then, every Mini Miner got a turn climbing aboard his tractor! Our backyard was filled with hands-on fun, including a soybean sensory bin, more toy tractors than we could count, and even a ride-on tractor! 🌾

The grand finale? Tractor rides around the bus loop! From exploring soybeans to sitting behind the wheel, this was a morning full of curiosity, smiles, and memories our little learners will be talking about all year.

Thank you, Reuben and the entire Wise family, for sharing your time, your farm, and so much joy with our Mini Miners!💚

A little milk, vegetable oil, food coloring, and a whole lot of excitement!🥛🌈🔬

Our Mini Miners used droppers to explore what happened as they added colorful drops to milk and vegetable oil. Their faces say it all—so much curiosity, wonder, and joy in discovering something new!🤩

With every squeeze and drop, they practiced fine motor skills, explored cause and effect, and watched closely for changes. Hands-on experiences like these give our youngest scientists room to wonder, experiment, and learn through play.

Big discoveries start with little drops!

How amazing is our school community?💛

While enjoying lunch in the woods today, our Mini Miners were fascinated by the tractor moving mulch. Our wonderful maintenance team took their curiosity and turned it into a whole activity! 🚜🌳

We’re so grateful for the way they make time for our little learners. How fortunate we are to be surrounded by so many caring adults who help our kids feel special and included. Thank you for making their day!💛

🪵Wednesdays are for the Woods!🌳

Today, our Mini Miners enjoyed a delicious, well-balanced meal in the great outdoors! We’re so fortunate to receive nutritious meals from our wonderful cafeteria that help fuel growing bodies and busy minds.

Eating outside gives children a chance to slow down, connect with nature, enjoy meaningful conversations with friends, and soak up fresh air and sunshine. We’ve found that the more time we spend outside, the happier and more peaceful our days feel! 💛

🎶 Meet Our New Music Teacher! 🎶

We are thrilled to welcome Rummy Turner to the LSSC Employee Child Care Center!

Music is such an important part of early childhood. Singing, dancing, playing instruments, and exploring rhythm help children strengthen language, memory, coordination, listening skills, creativity, and confidence. Most importantly, music gives children a joyful way to learn, express themselves, and connect with others.

We can’t wait to fill our Tuesday mornings with music, movement, laughter, and fun!🎵

Talk about a GOOD time!🚲☀️

16 eager kids brought their bikes to school today. 16 excited kids pedaled for nearly two hours, and 16 exhausted kids had the BEST morning outside.

Some rode without training wheels for the very first time. Some stopped to help a friend in need. Some laughed until they fell to the ground. Every single one had a BLAST!

We know it’s hot, so we headed outside immediately after breakfast while half the track was still shaded by the bleachers. We kept everyone comfortable with fans, plenty of water, snacks, and misting spray bottles.

Prioritizing outdoor play is a BIG part of our philosophy. The benefits are incredible. Experiences like today build confidence, coordination, independence, friendships, and memories - one more way we can give our children the best possible start.

A HUGE thank-you to our teachers for working extra hard to make this morning happen. These future adults - and their tired little legs - thank you!❤️💙

Join us in welcoming our high school cadet for the 2026–2027 school year!💜⛏️

One of our favorite partnerships is with Linton-Stockton High School, giving juniors and seniors the opportunity to step into the world of early childhood education and gain hands-on experience with our littlest learners.

Our kids absolutely LOVE having the “big kids” in our space, and we’re always grateful for the extra helping hands, energy, and fun they bring to our busy days!

We have a feeling our families will hear plenty of sweet and silly stories this year about adventures Ms. Maggie. We’re so excited to have her as part of our Mini Miner family!🌈

It’s a GREAT day to be a Mini Miner!💙⛏️

Messy hands, loud laughs, and constant wiggles—the perfect recipe for a first day back! 🫧🎈In some ways, it felt like we never left, and in others, I can’t believe how much they have grown!

We celebrated with bubbles, balloons, good tunes, and, of course, cupcakes.🧁

If today was any indication, we’re in for a pretty wonderful year.✨

✨Tomorrow is the day, and our space is looking better than ever!✨

If you’ve been around the block lately, you may have noticed our brand-new fence! We are SO excited to have an outdoor space to call our own this year.🌿☀️ While we’ll still venture out to our two wonderful campus playgrounds and explore the woods, there’s something extra special about being able to step right outside our doors and play.

Bring on the cooler weather, outdoor adventures, and ALL the picnics!🧺🍂

Inside, we’ve cleaned, organized from top to bottom, and added some wonderful new materials—all in preparation for our littlest learners to return.

Our environment is screen-free, and that’s something we’re proud of. We believe in the power of play, relationships, imagination…and yes, sometimes even a little boredom. Because that’s often when the magic happens.✨

You’ll find open-ended toys, art materials ready for creating, spaces made for exploring, and—most importantly—engaged, loving adults ready to play, learn, and grow alongside our kids.

The space is ready. The teachers are ready. Now we just need the kids!

✨Teacher Introduction: Ms. Addi💛

Day in and day out, Ms. Addi chooses these kids - and we are so lucky she does.

What started four years ago as a high school cadet class quickly turned into something much more. Now, while working toward her nursing degree, Addi continues to make time each year to come back and love on our little learners.

She is the perfect combination of fun big sister and safe, loving teacher - the one who will jump right into the fun, but is also there with a comforting hug when it's needed most. Addi has been one of our most flexible and versatile team members, always willing to step in and be exactly what our center needs.

If you could look inside her heart, we're pretty sure you'd find the faces of our little learners there. She loves them BIG, and they certainly love her right back. 💛
Four years later, we're incredibly grateful she continues to choose us. We love you, Ms. Addi! 🍎✨
