This week, the Overlook Elementary PTA had the absolute pleasure of celebrating our amazing teachers and staff during Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week! 💙💚

Yesterday, we treated them to a catered lunch from Potbelly complete with chips and sweet treats from BJ’s — plus fun goodie bags packed with snacks, drinks, coupons, and special surprises to help show just how appreciated they are.

We could not have done this without the incredible support of our community and local businesses!

A HUGE thank you to:

✨ BMore Handy and Allison Morgan for donating funds to help the PTA purchase gift cards from PJ's Coffee for every teacher and staff member. PJ’s is always such a wonderful supporter of our school community, including donating coffee and food for our annual back-to-school breakfast each year, and we were excited to support a business that continually supports Overlook! Also, special thank you to the amazing staff at PJ’s for putting up with us while purchasing such a large quantity of gift cards at one time — truly incredible customer service from start to finish!

Overlook Elementary—truly a gem of a school—is seeking two more AACPS teachers interested in leading an Art, Music, and/or STEM club this summer.

The program will run Monday through Thursday, July 6–July 30, from 12:00–3:30 PM, offering a wonderful opportunity to engage students in creative, hands-on learning experiences.

🎤✨ Overlook Talent Show – Time to Shine ✨🎤

We KNOW you’ve been practicing those TikTok dances, bedroom concerts, and full-on performances in front of your bathroom mirror… now’s your chance to take it to a live audience!!!!

Our Overlook Talent Show is May 8th at 6:30 PM, and we’re still looking for more performers!

Singing, dancing, comedy, magic, instruments—whatever your thing is, we want it on that stage.

Open to all K–5th graders… and don’t worry, this is a judgment-free zone (parents included… mostly 😆).

We’ve got talent, yes we do… we’ve got talent—how about YOU?

WE DID THAT 👏👏👏

Our Goal when we started the Believe Kids/Joe Corbi's fundraiser was $5,000.00....and my little owls we didn't just meet it....we BLEW RIGHT BY IT!

Tonight we found out once the offline orders, online sales and the incredibly generous donations from our supporters came in our FINAL TOTAL came in at:

I am SO proud of our little school, our families and our community. This is what happens when people show up and support each other!

And now that we know what we are capable of....lets talk about next spring! We are gonna raise that bar and I have NO DOUBT in my mind we will CRUSH that too!!

Thank you to every student, every family, every supporter who made this happen! You guys showed up BIG for our school and it does NOT go unnoticed!

Hope you guys are all having an amazing week off for Spring Break! I will let everyone know as soon as I know when our yummy pizza comes in 😋🍕

🎉 We have a winner! 🎉

Huge congratulations to Camden S. for taking the top spot in our Joe Corbi’s fundraiser for MOST UNITS SOLD! 👏👏

Camden (and his awesome family) absolutely showed up and showed out, and it paid off in a BIG way… he scored an incredible prize — a FREE Urban Air birthday party package valued at over $500! 🎈🎂🙌 Talk about a win!

This fundraiser success doesn’t happen without families like yours putting in the effort, sharing with friends and family, and going all in. Camden, we are so proud of you and so grateful for your hard work!

And because this was such a hit… we’re already planning to bring this spring contest back next year 👀
