SCHOLAR SATURDAY | SENIOR SPOTLIGHT

This week, Lindsay NHS proudly recognizes Jaydin Kay Tate, Class of 2027 and NHS Reporter.

Jaydin is involved in NHS, TSA, SkillsUSA, High School Band, and BOA at Mid-America Technology Center. Some of her favorite high school memories are the band bus rides to competitions and the friendships made along the way.

After graduation, Jaydin plans to attend college, join the National Guard, and major in Political Science with a focus on Law and Policy. Her ultimate goal is to attend law school and become a corporate attorney.

Jaydin says NHS has helped her grow as a leader and encourages future members to get involved, take every opportunity, and don’t be afraid to lead.

SCHOLAR SATURDAY | SENIOR SPOTLIGHT

This week, Lindsay High School National Honor Society is proud to recognize Megan Katherine Dutton, Class of 2027.

Megan serves as the 2026–2027 NHS President and is involved in 4-H, FFA, STEM/TSA, and Academic Team. She has earned numerous academic, leadership, livestock, FFA, and TSA honors throughout high school.

One of Megan’s favorite memories was traveling to Washington, D.C., for the National FFA Washington Leadership Conference.

After graduation, Megan plans to attend Oklahoma State University and pursue a dual major in Agribusiness and Agricultural Communications.

Megan says NHS has given her the opportunity to serve others through activities like the food bank and book fair. Her advice to future members is to enjoy the service and remember that your time is making a difference for someone who truly needs it.

Congratulations, Megan! We are proud to recognize your leadership, service, scholarship, and dedication.

SCHOLAR SATURDAY | SENIOR SPOTLIGHT

This week, Lindsay High School National Honor Society is proud to recognize Luis Enrique Torres, Class of 2027, as our Scholar Saturday Senior Spotlight.

Luis serves as Vice President of NHS and stays involved throughout his school and community. He is a Student Council Officer and Media Manager, HOSA member, Mid-America Technology Center Student Ambassador, and member of the National Technical Honor Society. Luis has also earned his Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), OSHA 10, and BLS certifications.

Some of Luis’s favorite high school memories have come from simply getting involved. He has enjoyed Powderpuff, end-of-year activities, and other school events, but one experience that stands out is helping plan the Homecoming dance through Student Council and seeing all of their hard work come together.

Luis also gives a special shoutout to Mrs. Rice as his favorite teacher. He says her patience and encouragement helped him work through his struggles with math and become more confident and successful.

NHS has also played an important role in Luis’s high school experience. He says it has helped him become a better leader and a more responsible person while giving him opportunities to serve others, become more involved, and step outside of his comfort zone.

His advice to future NHS members is to take every opportunity that comes their way, be willing to help others, get involved, and not be afraid to take on leadership roles. As Luis puts it, even the smallest acts of kindness can make a difference in someone’s life.

After graduation, Luis plans to continue his education at Mid-America Technology Center to complete his LPN studies before attending East Central University in Ada to become a Registered Nurse. His long-term goal is to further his education and become an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).

And a little something you may not know about Luis, he loves Christmas, his favorite animals are bunnies, and he hopes to have pet bunnies of his own someday. His favorite motto, “YOLO — You Only Live Once,” reflects his goal of making the most of every opportunity, trying new things, helping others, and creating memories along the way.

We are proud to have Luis Torres representing Lindsay High School National Honor Society and look forward to seeing where his future takes him.

The Lindsay High School chapter of the National Honor Society will welcome its newest members during the 2026 New Member Induction Ceremony on Thursday, August 27.

The induction ceremony will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Lindsay High School Auditorium.

Family, friends, faculty, and members of the school community are invited to attend as we recognize and celebrate the newest members of Lindsay High School National Honor Society.

🎓SCHOLAR SATURDAY | SENIOR SPOTLIGHT
Each Saturday, Lindsay High School National Honor Society will spotlight one of our seniors and celebrate the scholarship, service, leadership, and character they bring to our chapter, school, and community. We are excited to kick off our very first Scholar Saturday with Haley Grace Jones, Class of 2027 and our NHS Executive Council Secretary!

Haley has made the most of her time at Lindsay High School by staying involved and taking on several leadership roles. She has been a football manager, boys basketball manager, and track manager, while also participating in NHS, Student Council, FCCLA, and S.O.S. Along with serving as NHS Executive Council Secretary, Haley is also Vice President of the Student Council Executive Council.

Her hard work has earned her a spot on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll and Oklahoma Indian Honor Society, as well as being named a Masonic Lodge Student of Today.

When Haley looks back on high school, her favorite memories aren’t about one particular event. For her, it’s simply “doing all the things with all my friends!”

Two teachers who have made an impact on Haley are Mrs. McGowan and Mrs. Wilson. She says they are both people she could “talk and laugh with all day.” She appreciates how they make learning easier and are always willing to give her extra help when she needs it.

Being a member of NHS has also given Haley several opportunities to serve others. She has helped collect food for the community food drive, worked at a local church pumpkin patch, helped sponsor a school dance, and read to elementary classes. When asked what NHS has taught her, Haley summed it up perfectly: “NHS taught me how to put other people first.”

After graduation, Haley plans to attend Oklahoma State University. She is currently undecided on a major and is looking forward to college and figuring out what she wants to do in the future.

We are proud to have Haley representing Lindsay High School NHS and couldn’t think of a better way to kick off our first Scholar Saturday Senior Spotlight!
