Lindsay STEM & TSA Welcome to all things STEM and TSA for Lindsay Middle and High School!

10/03/2026

Homecoming 2026. Overall theme was Once Upon a Time, our STEM theme was from the Disney movie Tangled. Lots of hard work from so many of my high school students. Three of my high school classes have worked almost 3 weeks on this float. I’ll be posting a video with a few of my students talking about all the details of our build.

Riversport Day 2 is in the books! Took 17 middle schoolers to race theirs boats and came home with most spectacular sinking award 😂 Out of the 9 possible awards from the last 2 weeks, Lindsay TSA came home with 4 of them! Not bad for almost 800 students participating. Word on the street for next year is there will be an advisor built boat race, I’ll be ready 🚣💪🏻

TSA Riversport Day 2026! We took almost 40 kids today for Day 1 and we will take another 20 next week for Day 2. The students have worked really hard the past couple of weeks on their boats, which are made entirely from cardboard and duct tape….a lot of duct tape. Out of the 6 possible awards, we brought home 3 of them! Our ms unicorn team won most spirited crew, our ms duck boat won the fastest boat for all of middle school, and our hs silver bullet boat won the fastest boat for all of high school. Fun and successful day and look forward to round 2 next week with the other students.

Mr. Smith here! I wanted to take a moment to catch you up and share some of the many things we’ve accomplished both inside and outside of the STEM classroom since I’ve been here. Here’s a quick video highlighting some of the projects, activities, and accomplishments from the past two years.

I didn’t take very many pictures but sure made some great memories with some very special kids, as they are the last group I will take to National as a local chapter advisor. (I think that reality just hit today!) We had fun, unexpected ups and downs, a quick stomach bug, lots of laughs, even some tears and I wouldn’t change any of it. I am so proud of this group and will be cheering them on from afar. I know they are in great hands as I close this chapter in my career. Goodbye Lindsay TSA, you will forever have a big place in my heart!

So proud of my kids. I took 33 Lindsay students to the OK TSA state conference and almost everyone one of them made it through the preliminary round in their event and competed in the semi finals. We will have the complete Top 10 results and national qualifiers early next week but those who placed in the Top 3 were recognized today. I am so proud of every single one of these kids for not only their diligent work throughout the year but also the way they acted and represented Lindsay throughout the conference. Parents, thank you for sharing your child with me as each of them hold a special place in my heart. As my last state conference as a advisor with students competing it was a very special to see these kids compete and succeed. I was also recognized as the Oklahoma TSA Middle School Advisor of the Year. What a way to end this era of my career. I am eager to take our group to Nationals this summer and watch them grow.
