Sometimes people still overlook the most basic form of survival. Hydration, yes that means drinking water. Always have a water container with you. Never pass up an opportunity to refill it when a clean water source is available.

Really excited. Just got the in hivis green. Having it in this color is great! If you apply the tourniquet to yourself or someone else and can’t notify first responders or other medical personnel you need it to be visible. Going to be a great new addition for every day carry.

Working on a great new project!! Who’s tried finishing their own 80% lower receiver? This one has been a breeze using a 5D Tactical jig. They have a great setup and provide very detailed instructional videos. Really excited on how this turned out.

What’s up Facebook. Sometimes survival means something different in the urban wilderness. What happens when your cell phone dies in the wild areas of the airport? Can you charge your iPad while on the move in the jungle cruise known as public transportation. I carry three different different types of portable power depending on what I’m doing. Contrary to what some people try to claim, size does matter. The three you see here are the myCharge 2600mAh, the Jackery 6000 mAh, and the Goal Zero Sherpa 100ac. These are all great options and I encourage you to research their capabilities to see what works for your situation.

Hey Facebook. I had a friend ask about a previous post and I wanted to provide more information for those who haven't seen this before.

These photos are of a RATS tourniquet from RATS Tourniquet LLC with a Tier 1 Concealed holder. The holder is no longer offered, but there are plenty of other options out there, and I still stand by Tier 1's quality holsters.

The tourniquet is one of the most adaptable that I have seen. You can Google plenty of YouTube videos on how to use it so I won't bore you with the application. This tourniquet is light, easy to carry, and will work for a 300lb man as easy as a 40lb toddler. The tourniquet is also useful for animals, which other tourniquets are not as easy to use.

As with any piece of gear, you need to practice with the tourniquet to ensure you are capable of using it in a stressful situation. I recommend purchasing two. One you can use to practice and train with, the other you carry. The reason for this is using a tourniquet for practice puts wear and tear on it, possibly causing a failure when you need it in a real emergency.
