After much thought and consideration, I have decided to close this facebook group. I don’t have the time or desire to keep it going. If someone is interested in keeping it open, I’ll gladly add you as administrator and turn it over. I will always love MA. The great memories as a student, alumni and parent will always be dear to my heart. I will close by the end of this week. One a Longhorn, always a Longhorn!

Jim Pack, MA Class of 1976 died in late 2021 in Atlanta. There will be a memorial service Saturday, April 8, 2022 at Thomaston Methodist Church beginning at 11:00 am. Jim was a member if the band and his mom, Mrs Elizabeth pack taught math for many years in the early years of MA. Anyone who knew Jim is invited.

Today, Marengo Academy alumni and friends lost an incredible teacher when Mrs. Emily Burge (OLB) left this earth to be with Jesus in heaven early this morning. Mrs Burge taught at MA from the time the school opened until her retirement. She was an exceptional teacher who made learning fun but also taught her students about life. She continued teaching after retirement at MA at her beloved Linden United Methodist Church in the Wesley Sunday School class. Funeral arrangements are incomplete but should be available by tomorrow afternoon. In true Mrs. Burge style, she planned her memorial service and left detailed instructions for her family to follow. She loved the students she taught at Linden High School and Marengo Academy. OLB May be gone but she will never he forgotten! Our deepest sympathies to her family.

Hey all local Alumni, Friends & Family! We would love to see you be a part of kicking off the Longhorn season!! The kick off supper will be Friday, August 10th at 6:30 in the gym. We look forward to seeing everyone there. Like last year, $35 covers admission, membership into the booster club and your families meal that night. Go Longhorns!

Alumni+ will also be there to take your tax deductible donations!!

Calling all Marengo Alumni and supporters! You can donate to Marengo Alumni + and it is tax deductible. We are working on a 1969 campaign for alumni who have no children at MA to give back to our school. This will enable us to help students attend MA, and assist with educational efforts.
