Brookdale ESL Program The official page for the academic English as a Second Language program at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, New Jersey.

Hundreds of students from many countries come to Brookdale to study English as a Second Language (ESL) each semester. Our department offers an inviting atmosphere of cultural diversity and language teaching experts. This is an academic program open to anyone 18 years of age or older who wants to improve his/her spoken and written English. Whether you are looking to pursue a college degree or seeki

ng personal development, our ESL classes will fit your needs. Students must have a minimal command of the language to qualify for this program. There are seven levels of academic ESL ranging from beginning to advanced. The student’s starting level is determined by a placement test followed by an interview. Our staff uses these tools to carefully place students in the correct level. Core classes focus on conversation, grammar, and writing skills. Supplemental courses are also available in pronunciation, idiomatic expressions, American culture, and writing. ESL courses are taught at the main campus in Lincroft. Day and evening classes are available. As of 2014 Brookdale offers a full-time ESL program. Students may choose to attend part-time or full-time.
