Another Wonderful Tradition…. The Closure to Another Wonderful Year!
Wednesday morning, the Primary Class participated in a Stole Ceremony. Each child crossed a bridge and wore a stole to signify the next step in their educational journey. The white stoles symbolize the second year students leaving along with the upcoming Primary Pros. The red stoles symbolize good luck in your new adventure at a new school.

Another Treasured Tradition
Throughout the year the teachers have worked on each student’s individual scrapbook, adding photos, work pieces, and other mementos. The children get to take these books home with them. Children who will be returning in September will add summer memories and then bring the book back when school resumes so a new year of experiences can be added. Those leaving the school, keep the book to remember their days at school.
Cherished Memories!

Splish, Splash the Primary Class Had A Blast!
….and the fun they had truly supports that!
The Primary Class children went swimming in our heated pool on the ACP campus. Such a wonderful way to spend one of the last days of our school year.
Just a reminder… Lots of swimming and fun outdoor activities take place during our Summer Camp Program! There’s still time to register!

“I’m not a teacher, but an awakener.” - Robert Frost
Our Music Specialist, Mr. John the Music Man has surely awakened our children and teachers to the joy and gift of song, music, movement, dance and the inspiring sounds of a variety of instruments. The children shared their appreciation by presenting him with a book they created full of photos and drawings…… And also many hugs! Thank you John for another wonderful year!

At ACP we value our school’s history and the many traditions we continue to observe. Traditions are important to children as it provides them with a collective experience as they come together to observe and honor important milestones.
One of those traditions is the creation of a classroom or group banner. Each child is given their own individual space on a large piece of cloth in which to draw a memory of their school year along with a quote about their experience. The banners will be displayed at the school picnic for all to see!

“Learning itself is a subject for constant research, and as such must be made visible." — Loris Malaguzzi / Reggio Emilia
The Primary Class hosted their End of Year Celebration by sharing their collaborative learning with family members. Included in their presentation was their Zoo, Spotted Lantern, and Castle Block Projects. Art Work was beautifully displayed showing how the class worked with many different mediums. All curriculum areas were covered through documentation, including the class’ weekly field trips which included hikes, gymnastics and ice skating. This was just a small window into all the experiences this class has shared together but so much of the learning was visible as the guests viewed the work.
Thanks to all who attended..you too have been part of the journey!

Creating Art With Loose Parts
Billie, our studio teacher, presented a vast array of objects to a group of Half Day Nursery children to create a collage. The children were inspired instantly by the items. Creative juices were flowing as everyone got straight to work, enjoying the activity! Billie hung their finished products in the classroom for all to see.

A Delicious Thank You!
Since the fall, three second year members of the Primary Class have joined a group in the Half Day Nursery Class at their morning meeting to read to them. With the school year coming to the end, the children wanted to thank them for their time, patience and for helping to instill a love of reading and literature. The group set out to make the "Primary Pros" a book of drawings and photos. After taking a vote, they decided to prepare a snack of cookies which we shared together at our last meeting this week.
Community building through a shared love of story!

Game Day Finale!
Our last Game Day of the school year always takes place outdoors. This year was no different and what a beauty of a day it was! There were many table and over-sized board games, a game of baseball, a corn hole, an obstacle course, a game of Stop and Go, and an old time favorite…Duck, Duck, Goose! Thanks to all the parents who took the time to take part in these wonderful days throughout the year. We hope you enjoyed them as much as the children. So many beneficial skills are covered as the students take part in these many games but most importantly it is a wonderful home school connection which continues to build community!
