Project Runway….The Grand Finale!

The last week together this summer, campers paved their own way in the world of fashion as they designed clothing and accessories from a wide variety of recycled materials. Not only did our fashion designers gain an appreciation for upcycling, they also sharpened their mathematical thinking skills as they utilized both standard and nonstandard tools of measurement to ensure the perfect fit. The week culminated in an annual fashion show! Everyone who wanted to walk the Runway shared their unique creations with all the other campers!

A Show Full of Talent!
A spontaneous Talent Show at camp proved that the campers had many gifts to share! There was singing, dancing, puppets shows, and other skills exhibited such as martial arts moves and the ability to keep a balloon in the air for an extended amount of time. Even the counselors took to the stage to share their talents. Everyone in the audience supported the performers with cheers and applause! The collaborative fun never ends at ACP Camp!

The Week of the Regatta Races!

This week the children were challenged to use recycled materials to build a boat that can stay afloat, move, and carry weight. Challenge accepted as many campers got straight to work!
The boats created were then tested in the pool and as they floated upon the water, the campers and counselors cheered and observed the stability of the vessels. The boats even survived a forced windstorm, provided by a leaf blower ! Bravo…. Another great regatta!
