Stevenson High School's Career Ready, Trades, and Military Expo will take place on March 5th! This event is a great opportunity for students to explore careers that require little to no postsecondary education. It will be held in the Wood Commons, West Commons, and Upper Forum. During 8th period, the expo will be open to Stevenson students only with 8th period free, and from 4:00pm to 6:30pm, parents and families are welcome to attend.

This expo is designed for students interested in careers that offer on-the-job training, full-time employment opportunities with minimal degree requirements. Industry professionals, trade and apprenticeship programs, and military representatives will be available to discuss various career paths. Community college representatives will also be present to provide information about two-year degree programs.

Each year, Condell’s Trauma Team holds a 1-day event for area high school students. Trauma Center Day is an opportunity for students to be exposed to various healthcare fields involved in the care of a trauma patient. Small groups of students, guided by volunteer staff, rotate through stations designed to provide a glimpse into multiple fields such as, nursing, radiology, surgical services, rehab services and EMS.

-Date of Event: Friday, April 25th, from 8:30am-2:30pm
-Location of Event: Advocate Condell Medical Center
-Application is open to Junior and Senior Students who have not participated in this experience prior.
-Application closes at 3:30pm on March 4th

Stevenson High School is limited to a maximum of 10 student participants. Junior and Senior students interested in attending may fill out the following google form questions to apply. Special consideration will be given to students who show a high interest in healthcare, but have never had an opportunity to shadow, intern, conduct research, or participate in an on-site healthcare or medicine-related experience. Students who have participated in these types of opportunities in the past would not find this type of experience as intensive or hands-on when compared to their previous experiences. Please note- this is a PM assembly day (4th-10:52am-11:33am, 5th-11:38am-12:19pm, 6th-12:24pm-1:05pm). Dr. Michalczyk is a skilled orthodontist who transforms smiles and corrects bites using advanced technologies. She uses braces or Invisalign to achieve the best results for her patients.
