Reading success builds reading joy.✨

In our survey of nearly 900 teachers and parents, 96% of K–8 literacy educators said they see a connection between daily reading habits and overall academic performance. Teachers also shared the strategies making the biggest difference in the classroom, from read-alouds to small-group and explicit instruction.

When students feel successful as readers, they’re more likely to keep reading — and that momentum matters.

Intervention works differently when the whole system is aligned.

Ritchie County, West Virginia, built greater consistency across Tiers 1-3, using data to identify needs and layering support rather than replacing core instruction.

📈The result? Fourth-grade reading proficiency reached 62% in 2025, 12 points above the state average.
