MPS stakeholders, are you trying to decide whether you support 419? The district has included links to board presentations regarding the spending of both the last bond passed, which passed in 2018, and the ESSER funding the district received due to COVID. Total allocated between the two was approximately 650M. These links will not provide a detailed breakdown, you would need to PRR that information, but will give the broad data. I encourage you to take a look, and decide if the district deserves a yes vote on Prop 419; only you the voter can make that individual choice.

The annual conference keynote addresses are usually very illuminating as to why public education is failing. Seldom do you hear policy solutions to actually educate students…
Young teachers, you don’t need the MEA to be successful, or safe in your position as a teacher.
Any candidate endorsed by the MEA is not one I would vote for, as the priorities of teachers associations are not on improving the process of educating students. By inference, the candidates they endorse are not either.

Excellent information in this article! Point 5 in particular is crucial to being able to develop math reasoning and understanding; too many strategies, too early simply confuses students.

Riley Gaines was a keynote speaker yesterday at the TPUSA Academy Education Summit. The theme this year is Courage in Your Convictions: Cultivating Clarity in Chaos.
A paraphrased quote…. If it lands on the shoulders of children to stand up against gender ideology, the adults in their lives have failed.
I believe this can be extrapolated to include anything that is of evil intent.

Indeed!

Some ideas remain controversial because they ask difficult questions.

Milton Friedman believed that societies flourish when people are free to make their own choices, pursue opportunities, and keep the rewards of their efforts.

His critics disagreed with his conclusions.

But regardless of where you stand, understanding these debates helps children become thoughtful adults who can evaluate ideas for themselves.
