Last month, Stevenson to College (S2C) community members gathered with family, friends, and mentors for the program’s annual S2C Summer Celebration.

Like every S2C gathering, the evening began with a meal -- a chance for current Scholars, Summit Scholars, and S2C Mentors to reconnect, share stories, and reflect on their journeys to and through college. The S2C Summer Celebration recognizes the determination of S2C Scholars and the tireless guidance of the volunteer mentors who help them navigate the path to and through higher education.

Four Nashville-based songwriters take the stage in the round, sharing the stories behind hits they’ve written for Chris Stapleton, Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood, Faith Hill and more.

Jalen Brunson Youth Basketball Camp | Year 8

After leading the New York Knicks to an NBA Championship and being named Finals MVP last month, Jalen Brunson ‘15 returned to Stevenson this week to host his annual youth basketball camp and inspire the next generation of Patriots.

Proceeds from Jalen's camp support several Jalen Brunson Patriot Pride Scholarships, awarded each spring to SHS students through the Stevenson Foundation's Senior Scholarship Program.

Congratulations to generous Foundation partner Jalen Brunson ’15 on being unanimously named the Eastern Conference Finals MVP after leading the Knicks to a series sweep of Cleveland.

Beyond his success on the court, Jalen continues to make a meaningful impact at Stevenson through the Jalen Brunson Patriot Wellness Initiative (JBPWI).

Before essays, applications, and deadlines take over, every Stevenson to College (S2C) meeting begins the same way — around a shared meal.

Volunteer S2C Mentors and their Scholars gather over pizza, tacos, or Culver’s favorites, using the time to reconnect, laugh, and ease into the evening. It’s a simple tradition that does more than feed the group. It builds connection, fosters trust, and sets the stage for meaningful support throughout the college journey.

As National Volunteer Week comes to a close, we extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our S2C Mentors. This week and every week, we are grateful for these dedicated volunteers whose time, care, and commitment help shape the success and futures of our Scholars.

Things were popping at our most recent Foundation Pop-Up. The smell of freshly popped popcorn drew hundreds of students over to connect with Foundation team members and learn more about programs like One Family and S2C. Students also had the chance to suggest and vote on a name for our Foundation capybara mascot, adding a fun, interactive element to the event.

Nearly 500 SHS students from low-income households are supported through Stevenson Foundation programs, yet many students don’t realize a nonprofit right here at school is behind this work. Lunch Pop-Ups help bring these efforts into focus, increasing visibility and awareness of the Foundation’s impact.
