School’s Back and we’re celebrating 10 years of growing together!

This school year is an exciting one at Bluestem Montessori School as we celebrate our 10th anniversary!

Over the past decade, Bluestem has grown right alongside our students. This year, we’re beginning a new chapter with expanded spaces and Montessori classrooms serving children from 3 years through 8th grade.

For 10 years, we’ve been proud to provide an environment where children are encouraged to be curious, develop independence, build meaningful relationships, and discover a lifelong love of learning, all at their own pace and with the guidance of certified Montessori educators.

As our students settle into their classrooms and another school year gets underway, we’re feeling grateful for every family, student, staff member, and community supporter who has been part of our journey.

Here’s to a new school year, 10 years of Bluestem, and many more years of growing together!

Happy Birthday, Miss Vanessa!

Today we're celebrating someone who brings so much calm, kindness, and joy to our Bluestem community!

As our Yoga Instructor, Assistant Teacher, and all-around team player, Miss Vanessa is always ready to step in wherever she's needed. Whether she's guiding students through mindful movement, supporting a classroom, or helping behind the scenes, she does it all with grace, patience, and a positive spirit.

Miss Vanessa has a special gift for creating a sense of peace wherever she goes. Her calm presence helps our students (and staff) feel grounded, supported, and cared for each day. And let's not forget her incredible fashion sense. She always brings style and confidence along with her smile!

For nearly 10 years, Laura Roberts has poured her heart into building Bluestem Montessori School. Making it into the joyful, child-centered community it is today. As our founder, executive director, and Lead Elementary II teacher, she has fearlessly guided Bluestem through challenges, growth, and countless unforgettable moments, always putting children first.

And somehow, she still says “yes” when asked to donate her face to the annual Bluestem silent auction fundraiser. Where every year students bid to see who will get to paint her face and see their "artwork" in the classroom for an entire day. Congratulations to this year’s winner, Lizzie, who clearly understood the assignment and created an absolute masterpiece.

Thank you, Laura, for leading with courage, humor, compassion, and an unwavering belief in children. Bluestem is what it is because of you. Happy Birthday!
