Parking

Construction of the new theater at Pius X has limited available parking in the west lot of the school (between the school building and the stadium). Therefore, parking spots in the west lot will be available for a suggested donation of $10 per spot for home varsity games this year. Funds raised will support students in our theater program as they take their productions ‘on the road’ these next two years. The west lot will open at 6 pm and will remain open until full.

**Parking in the east lot on our campus is free!

Those catching a ride to the game should be dropped off and picked up in our east parking lot. No drop-offs will be allowed in the west parking lot, and the loop is closed during football games for opposing buses and vans.

Faith, and food and football!

Our football team made the trip to Scottsbluff for their season-opening game, with a stop to celebrate Mass at St. Luke’s, and for dinner at Ole’s Big Game Steakhouse in Paxton.

Home opener this Friday at 7 against Omaha Gross.

In this "35" Activity, freshman Theology students answer two questions based on a reading about Jesus and Zacchaeus from the Gospel of Luke, then share their answers anonymously with classmates, who evaluate each response.

Students share five times, with the chance to earn up to seven points each round — hence the name "35."

Theology teacher Sr. Guadalupe says the activity encourages students to engage with each other and reflect on their classmates' varied answers.

The lesson centers on a key question: Did Zacchaeus really act first, or did Jesus knowingly seek him out by traveling to Jericho?

Sr. Guadalupe used this to impress upon her students that whether we're praying, celebrating Mass, or genuflecting, it is Jesus who has first pursued us.

Every student takes a speech class, but those who enjoy 'performing' a bit more can take Competitive Speech class. Students in this class recently gave short speeches to help others learn about their unique selves, and will soon begin preparing scripts for the speech season beginning later this fall. New-to-Pius teacher Tommy Bender also coaches the speech team.
