✨ Spotlight on Excellence ✨

WPUSD is proud to recognize Mr. Mike Leslie, an ASD teacher at Foskett Ranch Elementary, for the incredible impact he has on students and families every day.

After starting his career in the corporate world, Mr. Mike found his true calling in special education. He brings patience, joy, and genuine care into his classroom, helping students build confidence and develop essential skills.

Recently, a family new to our district shared how meaningful Mr. Mike’s support has been for their son. Through thoughtful assessments, strong communication, and a welcoming classroom environment, he helped their child feel safe, supported, and excited to come to school. In fact, their son now asks each night, “School tomorrow? Mr. Mike?”—a powerful reminder of how much connection matters.

We are grateful for educators like Mr. Mike who lead with heart and make a lasting difference for our students.

💙 Thank you, Mr. Mike, for all you do!

What Bugs You? Let’s Talk About It!
Yesterday, our students got a special visit from Placer County for the “What Bugs You?” Assembly—a fun, interactive program all about mosquito and vector control!

They learned why mosquitoes are more than just annoying—they can spread diseases—and how we can all help reduce their numbers by dumping standing water and protecting ourselves outdoors.

Huge thanks to the team from Placer County Mosquito & Vector Control District for educating and empowering our kids to be proactive and safe.

Let’s keep our community healthy—starting with the little things that bug us!
