University of Nebraska High School The University of Nebraska High School (UNHS) is a college-prep high school offering quality education and academic services to students online.

The University of Nebraska High School was established by the University of Nebraska in 1929, giving it decades of experience in serving students at a distance. As technology has evolved, we have changed our delivery methods, becoming one of the first online high schools in 1997. UNHS is accredited by AdvancED and the Nebraska Department of Education, and our core courses are NCAA-approved. UNHS s

erves students in 50 U.S. states and more than 100 countries. Through the format of our school these students have the freedom to dedicate their time and attention to their passions while experiencing academic excellence. They may enroll and complete courses any day of the year, and our more than 100 core, elective and Advanced Placement courses are available 24/7, giving them the advantage of self-paced learning. Our students also gain access to the University of Nebraska, which is recognized around the world for excellence in teaching, research and outreach.

The UNHS office will be closed Monday, Sept. 7, 2026, in observance of America’s Labor Day holiday. The Theorem Learning Management System and UNHS Store will continue to be available during this time. All new enrollments, assignments, and other requests will be processed in the order in which they were received when the UNHS office reopens Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026.

Due to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln (UNL) welcoming new students to campus for the fall semester, temporary traffic and parking changes will affect staff access to the UNHS office. As a result, UNHS staff will be working remotely during normal business hours Aug. 17-19, 2026. The best way to reach UNHS during this time is through email. Due to a scheduled server migration affecting the Theorem Learning Management System and the UNHS Store, both systems will be unavailable from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Central Time on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2026. As of Aug. 3, 2026, UNHS is announcing updates to eight courses! 📚🎉

The two updated science courses, Chemistry 1 and 2, will include materials being available to students in Theorem via the digital course pack provider, Skyepack.

The six other course updates are new course versions with updated required course materials. In five of these updated courses, specific activities will now be factored into student grades.

In addition to these updated course versions, UNHS will be removing Business Communications from the course offerings.
