Just a heads up! Registration will open Monday August 3rd at 8am. PLEASE READ EVERYTHING BELOW TO HELP UNDERSTAND THE PROCESS.
A few things you need to know:
1 - Signing up for class means you are committing to classes from September 8, 2026 to May 29, 2027 and a recital weekend of May 14-16, 2027. If you are only looking for something for a month or two, this is not for you. When you sign up and then drop out two months after classes begin you effectively take a spot away from a student who would have stayed for the whole year.
2. Tumbling classes are decided by skills first and then age. We try to group kids together with like skills and then split those similar skills by age. We usually have younger and older versions of similar classes even though they are called different things. The class names are just starting points for us. I will reshare my skills video today so that you can go through the skills with your student and mark down which skills they can successfully do. When you go to register you will need to know what those skills are. The skills video has demonstrations and names of all the skills we will list on the registration form.
3. It takes approximately 2 weeks for registrations to come in and for me to go through the student list (approximately 150 students) and place students appropriately. I know that it is not convenient to wait the 2 weeks. I realize that you need to plan transportation and that the sooner you know which class your student is in, the easier it is. I apologize that I am not able to accommodate in this situation. If I rush to place students in classes too early then I end up moving them around anyway, which means you have to redo your planning. We used to test kids in the first week of class and make lists from there so thankfully we have improved that time!
4. If you have any questions, please email me at [email protected] or message me through my personal page Sarah Hatch Sutherland. Sometimes the messages through the page don’t get seen as quickly for some reason. I will be able to respond fairly quickly with the other two options (I will be volunteering at the food cupboard Monday morning from 8-10am so it will be after 10am that I get back to you … other than that I will be fairly open).
5. Registration is FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. This matters most for classes with limited spaces (preschool tumbling, preschool dance, hip hop classes, boys tumbling, cheer tumble, tap & ballet). As I mentioned, most tumbling classes are arranged after the fact so we will have space for the first 100 that come through. Registrations are time stamped so I know the order in which they come in. If you need to add something to your registration or make a change, please email me. I can make an amendment to your registration. Resending a second registration just confuses things.
6. Double check that the email you typed is correct. Lots of times when typing on our phones autocorrect or fat fingers make mistakes on emails. If you have done your registration correctly, you will get a confirmation to the email you register with as soon as you submit. You must click the submit button on the second page for it to go through. If you do not get a reply instantly, it either means that you didn’t click submit (didn’t make it to the second page), it went to your junk mail, or you submitted with the wrong email address. In the later case, that means I will not be able to confirm your registration. In the first case it means that I did not receive your registration either.
7. Registration fee is $10. There is a $25 costume deposit for every class you are registering for except for homeschool tumble and cheer tumble (there are no recital routines for those classes). Those fees are due ASAP. My PayPal is linked at the top of this page. I do not have Venmo and Facebook pay through my personal page works sometimes 🤣 Tuition is due on the first of the month every month with a late fee of $10 after the 7 day grace period. Paying tuition in full reserves your spot in the case of a waiting list. If you know me, you know that chasing money is my least favorite part of this job. My heart is in teaching. I WANT my energy and positive attitude to stay focused on kids. I don’t want to be burned out by emailing and adding late fees and hunting people down to collect money for something you signed up for. I do not email as a reminder. You will get reminders in our BAND app. If you want to pay in full I do offer a 5% discount.
8. You will be asked to download the BAND app to stay up to date on studio happenings. That provides us a place to share lots of details about what’s going at the studio without putting it all out there online. I chose to keep things private in the group as we have had some situations in the past that have led me to wanting more privacy for students. The world and the internet can be a scary place!
I know this is a lot of info!! Please reach out with questions!!
