Day 1 - Chapter Officer Leadership Workshop at Billingsly High School. Central District Officers, including our very own Riley Stephens, hosted officer teams from across the state in exciting workshops meant to prepare them to lead their members with confidence and enthusiasm this school year. The Peach Park afterwards was the cherry on top!

Day 2 - Lincoln Officers spent the day at the Talladega Civilian Marksmanship Park. Lots of planning for the year was done along with a workshop from THE Lucas Gooden on team bonding. Awesome homemade cinnamon rolls from Laura Hill and some good ol pizza 🍕 gave us lots of energy to plan the BEST year of activities for our members!

Our President, Riley Stephens, spent some time this week with her fellow District Officers at the 2026 LEAD Conference. Central, North, and South Districts come together with State Officers to plan for a year of advocacy and fun!

We couldn’t let the opportunity pass to recognize Cristen Haynes who was unable to be with us at this years convention. Cristen started her SAEs at a young age and developed them through high school, raising cattle, hogs, and chickens. Last year, she was the State Swine proficiency champion, and this year, she was awarded second place in Diversified Livestock and is the Poultry Proficiency State Champion! Her Poultry project will move on to Nationals. Good Luck Cristen and thank you for all your hard work through the years!

💥98th Alabama FFA State Convention💥

Each year is new, different, and exciting in its own way but one thing continues to stay the same - the dedication of the Lincoln FFA members, parents, and supporters is always here! This week was no exception. Lincoln was well represented at the 98th convention.

National Chapter Award - GOLD
Land Evaluation - 1st place
Poultry Proficiency - 1st place
Diversified Livestock Proficiency - 2nd place
Agriscience Fair - 2nd place
Aquaculture - 3rd place
Forestry - 6th place
Six members were also awarded the State FFA Degree and Riley Stephens starts her second term serving as a Central District Officer.

Super proud of the hard work our members put in to get to the state competitions. There are over 30,000 members in this state and FFA is Alabamas largest student organization. You don’t get here easily. 6:45am before school and Sunday afternoon practices are just part of it. Hard work pays off. “Everything happens before it happens”💙💛

The main event of the week was our very own Lucas Gooden serving out his last days as AL State Vice President. He kicked it off at the first session with an outstanding Retiring Address. He was session chair for session 3 where he announced the CDE placings of his fellow chapter members which was so cool! We loved that extra excitement in his voice when he called his own chapters name❤️. Then Friday came and so did the tears. We watched Lucas retire his jacket and end his year of service to the Alabama FFA association. Lucas, you make us all so proud. Watching you has been the highlight of this convention!! Congratulations on a fantastic year of service 💙💛

Special Thank you to Kim Knight - Talladega County Career Tech Director- for supporting this chapter in so many ways. Mrs Knight attended this convention like she has every other one I can remember. She wasn’t going to miss Lucas’s retiring address! Thank you Mrs Knight for all you’ve ever done for us. Best CT Director in the state!

Also - Bus Driver of the Year goes to Aaron Stephens!
