Spokane Public Schools in Washington is setting an example for how large districts can use storytelling to strengthen community trust. Serving nearly 30,000 students across almost 70 buildings, it empowers staff and students throughout the district to help share authentic school stories and everyday moments. That consistent, community-driven approach to communication helped support a successful bond campaign this school year, earning more than 60% voter approval. Amazing work!

âInstead of communication feeling like âone more thing,â it becomes part of building connection and belonging across the district. Families deserve to see the joy, care, and opportunities happening inside their schools every day, and Class Intercom helps make that possible.â
âJohn Casper, Communications Coordinator.
At Winona Area Public Schools, sharing whatâs happening across the district isnât left to just one person or one team anymore. More staff are involved in storytelling, so families are seeing more of what students' day-to-day experiences look like, more often.

Our Customer Success Manager, Emily, has been on the road this springâKentucky, Ohio, and Minnesotaâsharing about a parent ambassador program she built during her time leading district communications.
The idea started with a common challenge: limited capacity to cover everything happening across district athletics on social media. So they brought on parent ambassadors from each sport to help capture and share content. They were already at events and already invested, which led to more consistent coverage and stronger support from the whole community. Using Class Intercom, contributors submit content, work through feedback, and get approval through a moderated workflowâwithout ever needing direct access to school accounts.
School communities are constantly looking for ways to innovate and tell better school stories, and we're proud to support them in that mission.
Special thanks to John Casper, who presented alongside Emily in Minnesota, and all these inspiring and welcoming communities!
