Nebraska Wesleyan Art Department

Nebraska Wesleyan Art Department The Art Department is an intensive studio art, design, art history, and art education program within

Within the framework of the liberal arts tradition and intent upon the value of a broad based undergraduate education, the Art Department endeavors to engage students in study of the visual arts as preparation for advanced graduate study or careers in art and design related professional fields. To this end, the Department employs majors in developing foundation skills in design and drawing, provid

es majors with experiences in a variety of two-dimensional, three-dimensional and digital media. Further, the Department provides art majors with opportunities to discuss the work of self and others, experiences in conceptualization and revision practices, and encouragement to actively participate in the arts. Through examination and knowledge acquisition by art majors of contextual frameworks within which the visual arts have developed, the Department also seeks to instill an appreciation and understanding of historical, global and cultural developments in art.
