Here are the rest of our photos from the day! Look for your kiddo have a blast and learning something new and fun 💛💜

Another shout out to our parent volunteers for taking the day off work to watch, not only their own kid, but a small group of them, while taking pictures, managing behaviors, and keeping everyone moving on time! It was a wonderful day because of each of you!! 🥇

5th Grade field trip to the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago was awesome 🧑‍🔬🧪

We had so much fun today exploring the museum, and having fun learning with our friends!

Third grade got hands-on with measurement today! 🧪🧑‍🔬 Students explored how 1 liter can be decomposed into 1,000 milliliters by conducting their very own experiment.

From predicting to measuring to discovering, our students got to see the math in action! ✨ There is nothing like a little hands-on learning to make a big concept click! 💜💛

Mrs. Lund’s class had a full day of apples yesterday! We made homemade applesauce, tasted red, yellow, and green apples, and we were even illustrators for our own apple poem book! 📕 🍎✏️

We did some apple science and discovered apples float! 🍎💦

Of course we had to solve the famous riddle:
What lives, inside a little red house with no doors, no windows, and a star inside? 👀

We cut an apple across the middle and discovered inside an apple is a star!!! ⭐️

It was such a fun day filled with learning, experimenting, tasting, creating, and lots of apples! I sure do love kindergarten and the magic it brings! ❤️🍎

At the beginning of September, Ms. Laubenstein’s 1st grade class had the privilege of visiting the butterfly garden at Adams School and learning all about the butterfly life cycle. We were so excited to bring a caterpillar back to our classroom and watch it transform into a chrysalis and, eventually, a beautiful monarch butterfly!

Students were so excited to come in and discover that our butterfly had hatched overnight! They loved observing our beautiful monarch and watching the life cycle they had learned about come to life!

We are so grateful for this hands-on learning experience and were so excited to release our monarch! 🐛🦋🧡

Today, Miss Bender’s class celebrated our first Pajama Day of the school year with some flashlight reading! 🔦 We cozied in, turned off the lights, grabbed a flashlight, and honed in on our books!

Learning 9 to 5! 🎶🎤

Just kidding … school was from 8 to 3. 3rd grade dedicated their afternoon to the legend, Dolly Parton. Today is September 25th (9-25) … get it?! 😜 We learned about how talented and generous Dolly was, especially the love she had towards reading and her dream to put books in children’s hands. We ended our day line dancing to … you guessed it … 9 to 5.

Today, Miss Decker’s First Grade class released our butterfly, MJ, into the world!

Over the past few weeks, our students have been busy learning all about the life cycle of a butterfly. They voted on a name for our butterfly, discovered their very own caterpillar names, read "The Very Hungry Caterpillar", and watched the amazing transformation from caterpillar to butterfly! 🐛➡️🦋

It was such a special experience watching our students learn, explore, and see the life cycle happen right before their eyes. We are going to miss MJ, but we are so excited to see where their wings take them! 💕🦋
