Eat Real certification: what is it? ✅👆

Our program is currently reaching over 1 million students across 21 states, transforming school menus to be delicious, nutritious, and responsibly sourced.

Right now, we are seeing a historic rise in diet-related illnesses in kids.

We believe school cafeterias can be part of the solution.

The scale of school food is HUGE — over 30 million students are eating at school cafeterias every school day.

If we can change the food, we can change the future for our nation’s kids.

As summer comes to a close, we want to highlight the incredible work Montague Area Public Schools alongside 6 other Muskegon County districts have done during the last couple months.

Their thriving summer feeding program is supporting so many parts of their community.

Farmers. Parents. Kids. Staff. And more.

In one week, the 7 districts distributed 3,600 quarts of blueberries and 3,200 pounds of broccoli Fresh, local, and harvested at peak season from local farms.

What Montague has built is proof that school food programs can be more than what we expect them to be.

They can be a bridge between local farmers and local families.

They can be a place where dignity and nourishment show up in the same meal.

We asked Texas school food professionals to tell us why school food matters. Here’s what we got:

“Kiddos are the future!”

“School food supports student health and the Texas economy.”

“Kids need good food to make great minds.”

“School food supports the kids that don’t always eat.”

The National School Lunch Program in Texas feeds over 3 million kids every day.

And for so many kids, school food is not just a meal. It's a support system that they've come to rely on.

Thanks to everyone at Texas’ School Nutrition Association conference that chatted with us at our booth and beyond.
