Innocence Freed, A New Beginning Gala on October 2, 2025 was incredible. Thank you to those who came to support!

I want to give a personal shout-out to someone who has stood by me and the mission Jesus placed on my heart - helping survivors of human trafficking and exploitation - for the past 9 years.

Senator Pete Ricketts, thank you for being more than just a fighter against human trafficking - thank you for being a steadfast supporter of me as a person all these years. Your encouragement, belief in my calling, and willingness to stand with me through the challenges and victories has meant more than words can express.

You’ve consistently supported the two nonprofits I’ve founded, and your advocacy has made a real and lasting impact on the lives of countless survivors.

Although you’ll be in Washington, D.C. and unable to attend the new Innocence Freed Gala on October 2, you’ve still taken the time to record a special video message for everyone in attendance - a powerful reminder of your continued commitment to this fight and to the people behind the mission.

You have been an exemplary leader, ally, and friend. From the bottom of my heart, Thank YOU!

Choosing the right anti-trafficking speaker is crucial for fostering effective awareness and action in combating human trafficking.

Why the right speakers matter:
Raising Awareness: Effective speakers can raise awareness about the scope of human trafficking and its impact on individuals and communities. By sharing information, they can educate others about the realities of this hidden crime, empowering them to recognize indicators and take action.

Empowering Survivors: Survivors of human trafficking are crucial in crafting successful anti-trafficking responses. Engaging survivors ethically, ensuring their voices are front and center, can help shape understanding and promote meaningful action.

Influencing Policy and Systems: Advocacy through speaking out can lead to important policy changes at local, national, and international levels. Speakers can call for stronger laws, better enforcement, and increased resources for survivors.

Building Informed Communities: Speakers help create more informed communities that are equipped to recognize the signs of trafficking and offer support to those in need.

Promoting Action: By informing communities and raising awareness, effective speakers encourage engagement and support for anti-trafficking initiatives. They can inspire individuals to get involved through various means, such as raising awareness on social media, attending educational events, or advocating for policy changes.

Key Considerations for Selecting Speakers:
Expertise: Look for speakers who are experts in human trafficking, including those with lived experience. Survivors offer valuable insights into the realities of trafficking.

Ethical Engagement: If engaging survivors, prioritize ethical engagement practices to avoid tokenism and ensure their voices are heard and respected. This includes providing opportunities based on their skill sets and not solely their survivorship.

Trauma-Informed Approach: Speakers should be sensitive and utilize trauma-informed approaches when presenting, creating a safe and supportive environment for attendees.

Credibility: Consider the organization's reputation and credibility in the anti-trafficking movement when selecting speakers.

By carefully selecting knowledgeable and ethical anti-trafficking speakers, organizations and communities can effectively raise awareness, advocate for change, and work towards ending human trafficking.
