Seeing RED for World Dyslexia Day! ❤️

Carroll’s new DEIB Curriculum Coordinator, Nikki Turpin, and Head of the Upper School (and Carroll parent!), Kate Collins, are showing their dyslexia pride today!

We’re also excited to officially welcome Nikki to Carroll! In her new role, she’ll work across our school community to strengthen inclusive teaching and learning, support student belonging, and help ensure every Carroll student feels seen, valued, and empowered.

What a great day to celebrate the power of thinking differently!

A sweet idea💡 turned into something even sweeter! 💙

Carroll students put their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit to work selling handmade slime at the Belmont Farmers’ Market’s Mini Market Makers Day—with plenty of Carroll educators and school leaders stopping by to cheer them on!

Today, the students returned to Carroll with a special delivery: a check for $143 to support their school.

We love seeing our students turn an idea into action—and choose to give back along the way. Way to go, E, K, I and C! 👏

What a powerful way to kick off Dyslexia Awareness Month in conversation with these amazing humans and dyslexia advocates. This morning, we viewed 3 animated short films aimed at helping spread understanding of dyslexia -both the struggles and incredible strengths. After, we had an engaging conversation. Thank you Josh Clark, Kate Griggs, Peter Reynolds, Paul Reynolds, and Casey O’Connor for sharing your voices with the Carroll School, Landmark School, FableVision, and Dedham communities. October is Dyslexia Awareness Month—and we’re kicking it off by celebrating dyslexic minds, voices, and ways of thinking.

We’re especially excited to see Carroll School’s My Amazing Brain, produced by the talented team at FableVision ( ) on the big screen this weekend alongside the Boston premiere of Made By Dyslexia's What Is Dyslexia? () and Landmark School's short film Open Letter to Dyslexic Youth ().

Following the films, Kate Griggs (.griggs) , founder and CEO of Made By Dyslexia, will join Dr. Renée Greenfield, Head of Carroll School, and Joshua J. Clark, Head of Landmark School, along with student voices, for a conversation about dyslexia, dyslexic thinking, and how we can help the next generation understand and celebrate their minds.

What a powerful way to begin a month dedicated to raising awareness—and to keep pushing the conversation from awareness toward understanding, empowerment, and possibility.

Healthy risk-taking is part of learning—in the classroom and beyond. In Middle School Bounders, our 6th graders practice stepping outside their comfort zones, trusting their support systems, and discovering what they’re capable of—just as we ask them to do in their academic work every day. 🧗🏽‍♂️

We love seeing where our Carroll alumni go next! Allison West bumped into Liam Carlin recently and learned:

Liam is now a junior at Olin College, studying Mechanical Engineering and getting ready to begin his third internship—this time at Tesla! He also leads Olin’s 80+ student Baja project team, which is building a car to race competitively in Ohio, and serves as an RA for first- and second-year students.

And if that weren’t enough, Liam was recently invited to introduce Olin’s new president at a college event.

Way to go, Liam! We’re so proud to see you taking on new challenges, building community, and doing some pretty amazing things. 👏
