On behalf of the LGBTQA+ Center and Women’s Center, we want to offer you best wishes for a smooth end to the semester!
We are nearly through our compressed fall semester with finals taking place 11/21-25/2020. It has definitely been a whirlwind of a semester!

If you are taking finals on campus, academic buildings will be locked tomorrow and Sunday so make sure to bring your NU ID card with you so you can get into the building.

A reminder that there are adult coloring books and pencils in the 3rd floor hallway of the NU for you to pick up to color your way to some relaxation! You can also stop by TRIO to pick up other Take and Make projects (along with the coloring books and pencils).

You can also pick them up at TRIO with other take and make projects. For more info about this and all the events happening over the mini-sessions in December and January: https://newsroom.unl.edu/announce/rso/11978/70112

Hello everyone, Please see the following request from a student about a podcast project they are working on.

I hope you are all safe and well during this challenging time. My name is Andrianna Jacobs, and I am a student majoring in journalism and psychology here at UNL. I am working on a class project on various ways students are affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. This is for a podcast series. This episode is about how students with children are adapting to the pandemic. I am looking for a few people to speak with about this. I am hoping to talk about the struggles and opportunities of being a student with a child or children during the Pandemic. I would be able to set up zoom interviews. Thank you so much, and I hope to hear from you soon!

Hi everybody, welcome back! I hope we are all adjusting well to the new system (and our kids are too 💜)

I wanted to give an update on plans for SWC this fall. We usually have a Welcome event at the beginning of the semester, but because of the current state of *the world* we don't feel it would be safe to have a big gathering with our kids on campus. The main priority for this semester will be our Holidays for Little Huskers gift drive. For new folks, this is an event where our group, in partnership with UNL Women's Center, coordinates getting holiday gifts for parenting students and their families. In past years, we started having families and sponsors sign up around October, then dispersed the gifts and had a party in December. Because of the shortened semester this year and concerns about group events, we would like feedback from students who would like to participate on whether it would be better to
1. Have the drive complete by the end of the semester in November and students can pick up their gifts at that time.
2. Continue the drive (allowing us more time to include more students) and have gift pickup in mid-December.

Please message the page or comment and let us know what you prefer. This will also get you on the list of students to contact first to notify you when we start enrolling families. We are very excited to get this going! We need some happiness and community right now 😊

As always, please feel free to reach out to us if you need any help or resources!
