Just kids being kids and learning about agriculture along the way!

As summer programming winds down, we're looking back on a season full of learning, exploring and discovering how the things kids see and use every day connect back to agriculture.

This summer, Nebraska Agriculture in the Classroom intern Ashlyn Boeckenhauer led more than 70 programs across nine locations, helping bring agricultural literacy to students beyond the traditional classroom.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, these hands-on learning experiences can continue all year long.

Nebraska Agriculture in the Classroom brought home national recognition!

Last month, our educators received the 2026 Innovative Program Award for Professional Development & Educator Engagement at the National Agriculture in the Classroom Conference in Providence, RI for the Nebraska Agriculture in the Classroom Champions program.

Nebraska Agriculture in the Classroom Champions equips educators with the knowledge, resources, and confidence to bring accurate, engaging agricultural lessons into their classrooms, helping students better understand Nebraska agriculture and where their food, fuel, and fiber come from.

A special thank you to the Nebraska Corn Board for sponsoring Nebraska Agriculture in the Classroom Champions and helping make this award-winning program possible. Your support is making a lasting impact on Nebraska educators and students.

You scream, I scream, we all scream for ICE CREAM!
Kids love our Ice Cream in a Bag activity, especially when it’s time to shake it up! While all mammals produce milk, dairy cattle are the most common producers in America. Ice cream begins as milk from a dairy cow on a farm. On average, a dairy cow produces eight gallons of milk each day. Farmers care for cattle every single day so we can enjoy tasty products like ice cream!
